I've run a 2:54.

At the age of 36 though. And I haven't beaten it yet. Pretty incredible that Joan is still running sub 3s. At this rate I don't know if I will still be running at 55, much less marathons.

She is incredible.

So many observers are misguided by absolute human performances. But age is a factor for humans.

A 57 yo woman running a sub 3 marathon is very RARE! And any human athletic performance is remarkable only because it's rare! Rareity is correlated with degree of difficulty.

Benoit's performance is rare and it's degree of difficulty is on pare with any any running world record...if you factor in her age.

Solid New England granite she is.

She doesn't speak all that much, she lets her racing do the talking.

We could ALL take a lesson from her.
