looks like the ncc is still a pretty solid region.
Conference.
Nick Hirsh from St. Cloud State might make some noise in the NCC. Ran a pretty good Griak race. I know it's not the end of the season.
Actually I meant North Central Region which is a region, not a conference.
Hirsch was like 10-15 seconds ahead of Moen at the mile. and finished over a minute behind.
yeah, hirsch needs to work on his race strategy a little bit.
So what are your regional predictions. After last year, I think UMD knows how to frickin race and that they will still perform at Regionals despite a sub-par performance at GRIAK. So here it is.
1) Adams (Cele, Solis and others... enough said... ild like to see where they'ld finish in D1)
2) Western (Duane rent-a-team pulled out all the stops to make up for last year and could take it all)
3) MSU-Mankata (clearly the third best team, showed it at Griak and Augustana, but does know how to choke)
4) UM-Duluth (knows how to race when it counts and proved that big last year)
5) USD (Returned a lot from a sub-par 10th place showing last year and proved a lot at Griak)
6) UCCS (Getting their third man with Tum and Brathall will help but still lacking depth
7) Fort Hayes (Young guys are helping people forget Parker and Dexter)
8) Colorado Mines (Young and talented but not ready to make the leap the girls made last year)
9) Augustana (With talented youth in Baltrush, could be this years sleeper)
No real talent after these 9 teams.
Nationals:
1) Adams
2) Western
9) Mankata
12) Duluth
17) South Dakota
18) Colorado Springs
it's mankato 'o'

I would like to see UMD do as well as you've predicted, but racing well at the end of the season hasn't been a speciality at UMD. Hopefully, last year was the start of something good.
They have a couple of solid performers who are taking things into their own hands trying to avoid what has become a habit at UMD....racing well in October and under-performing at the regional. From what I have observed and from the anecdotes I've heard, this is absolutely not the athletes' faults.
Good luck 'dogs.

Western, UCCS and CSM will be at CU this weekend, Adams will be at Great American, will the rest of these teams be at Pre-Regionals?
Fort Hays, USD, Mankato and Duluth will all be at USD
Adams will be at Great American
Western, UCCS, Fort Lewis and Mines will be at the Shootout
Augie will be in Oregon
And thats youre regional top ten.

My perdictions for what it is worth:
1st - Western State: A proven winner with some top talent added this year with Hungarian Division I All-American transfer from Northern Iowa along with DII national champs Christianson and Bank and World Mountain Gualifer and multi-time all American Par makes this team tought to beat.
2nd - Adams State: Great team with fulled team returning. It will be a true battle with Western for the national title this year.
3rd - South Dakota: Great early results and their coach knows how to peak them, evident by last year's women's 5th place finish.
4th- Colorado School of Mines: Young and hungery like last year's women's team. Had three runners in the top 20 at last years USATF National Cross Country Championships along with a 3:51 1500m runner. Can they peak at the right time?
5h - Minnesota Mankato: Good squad, but are they running too well to early?
6th - University of Colorado Springs: Great top 2 and number 3 is showing early form. Their lack of depth with hurt at a big meet, but they will hold on and overcome the disappoint they suffered the last two years.
-Still hands down the toughest Regional, even losing two top 10 teams.
Your top 6 teams are solid, but the South Dakota women were 9th last season, I believe Harding was 5th.

Yep, and I meant JR. USATF Cross Country Championships for the Mines runners!
i think cele rodriguez for adams has no xc eligibility left, two years of track...but no xc. i could be mistaken but i think he is done. i still think adams will be tough, but that hurts them alot.
