Races are wined by who is the fast on the race, records are done by who is the fast chrono. Never a run is wined simply by who resists to pain or trains hard. Second aspect is that one of the things that doping does is the ability to train hard.
Actually the drug sportsman doesn´t take drugs right before the competition, but long before the competition. Actually the doping usage permits him to enhance shape condition trough hard training to better performance, that without doping on training he could train so hard or so fast. The more, this is the reason why doping tests are done out of competition period frequently.
Therefore all that facts pro-Paula that she does dope because she trains hard, might be against Paula as well. We might think that she trans so hard and so fast because she dopes during the preparation period.
I really think that Paula 2:15 should be out of marathon WR. Why in the hell, in London marathon, one marathon for woman exclusively, it´s authorized that Paula, could run with several Kenyan man pacers ? What she did on that marathon, what they did to help her, is out of road run rules absolutely. Not just the pacers are unauthorized and illegal, as one woman run can´t be done with one of the woman with 4 man pacers. A total absurd that violates the spirit and the norms of the fair competition.
This said, i´m not accused Paula of doping. I just say that Wejo argument are against Paula and not to Paula´s innocence.
Finally I disagree with Paula´s "The only person you know for certain is clean is yourself". If I live with someone else 24 hours of the day – day and night, I watch every step of that person, I know if he or she takes doping or is clean.

In the absence of a positive drug test, those arguing that Paula is dirty and those arguing that Paula is clean can never prove their case one way or another.
It comes down to a matter of one’s predisposition, prejudice, instinct, whatever.
I firmly believe were a poll taken internationally amongst those with any knowledge of the sport, as to who. amongst the elite in our sport they deemed were likely to be clean - Paula’s name would be first.
Personally, if my life depended on me ticking one of two boxes marked clean or dirty in reference to Paula - I’d have no hesitation ticking clean.
You could just read her autobiography.

It's funny because I think that is what helps her case. If she was cheating she would run well enough more consistently. Instead, like most of us her human fragility comes through-- she is able to set the world record one race, then blow up at other big races.

The fact that she's made herself available for testing wherever and whenever, and has welcomed having her blood frozen for future, more advanced testing methods, serves as evidence that she's got nothing to hide.

I think many close to sport feel that Radcliffe, like many athletes in her era, crossed the line and used PEDs at one point or another in her career. Radcliffe is that type of athlete that utilized every resource, trained in Albuquerque (we all claim even Americans are buying PEDs that train in Albuquerque) and made ridiculous jumps in performance. To me, she is just another world class athlete that has done what was needed to be done to succeed, much like Lance Armstrong or Marion Jones.

Do you even understand how PEDs work? You don't just take them, continue doing your old workouts, then show up to race day and kill it. They allow you to recover faster so that your training volume and intensity can be turned way up. Someone burying herself on the track is exactly the type of thing you can do when you're on drugs because your body will recover faster.
No one takes drugs and then chills out in their training, there would be no point.

This is really a silly question because what can ANYONE say to PROVE they are innocent here. There is no answer that works.
People completely miss the point on this thread, particularly Wejo, drugs themselves don't make you a better athlete. Drugs allow you to train harder, more often, than the competition, you recover quicker and can hit it hard day after day unlike a clean athlete, the 'she just works harder than anyone else' is the exact reason why people should eb suspicious. By personality the dopers tend to be the ones who are most focused, most ocd, most driven, most one dimensional people, who will do ANYTHING to succeed, Paula certainly ticks all of those boxes. I'm not sure if she ever took drugs but i'd be very surprised if she didn't blood dope at some point in the past.
Just one more thing, the number of injuries she has now may be a direct result of just how hard she was able to push herself. Just take a look at Salazar, is it really normal for a very fit healthy 20 something suddenly falls apart completely physically to the point where he couldn't go out and jog at all. Then they start suffering life threatening illness in their early-mid 40's? i can't think of a single other example of this in athletics... other than flojo!

She would take every advantage allowed, but she wouldn't cross the line.
Some of the top athletes on the female side are still on the track. More seem to have drifted to the Marathon on the men's side.
If you had the likes of Dibaba and Defar concentrating on the marathon the record might go or be run close making it a more normal performance
I doubt many other athletes have actually stood at the side of a big meet waving an 'EPO cheats out' banner

why are posters stating how she improved dramatically? She has taken a long term sytematic approach with the same coach and support staff. She was great as a junior but never had the closing speed to beat the Africans. She ended up choosing an event where closing speed might not matter as much and her ability to withstand pain helped her break her opponents or rather push herself to records in races that were basically paula against the clock.

Don't know about Paula. We do know that Sandy Koufax, Bannister, Seb Coe, Billy Mills, Willie Mays, Babe Ruth, Hank Aaron, Joe Montana, Roger Staubach, Jim Ryun, Ted Williams, Shorter, and 90% of pro athletes before 2000 used PEDs since they were legal.
