Jerry Clayton
Jerry Clayton
I agree with the Jerry Clayton call. This would set up for a distance coach and I too believe they should go after Robert Gary. I have met the head coach at OSU and loyalty to your alma mater does not make up for what a jerk Rogers is.
Clayton is the front runner for the job. At least that is what we are hearing. Gary most likely would not leave Ohio St for a position that is sure to pay less than Ohio State and where he would not be classified as a head coach. The position would be classified as an assistant, although he would be in charge of cross country and would be titled the head cross country coach. The position would not pay much more than the sprint coach if jerry got it. Also understand that as far as we know Gary has no interest in the job at all. I dont even think Gary is considering the move. Rogers doesnt have much time left at Ohio State. I am sure he would like that job in a few years. That makes much more sense.
I know for a pretyy solid fact that Gary makes peanuts at Ohio State.
U of MN won't do jack this year or ever. They consistently take most of MN's top guys, and do absolutely nothing with them. Were not talking footlocker champs or anything, but they're still solid recruits that Plascencia doesn't develop at all.
on the subject of OSU, people placing them in 9th and 10th...please. They have consistently been in the top half since Gary has taken over things there. Those are positions that Iowa, Illinois and Purdue can fight over.
