Webb has looked really, really good recently.

I think he runs 3:28.5.

If not now, he will someday. It would be great on Friday.

Baala will win in 3.30xx webb will be 3rd in 3.31.5

Arguing this from a British perspective he's not run as fast as Cram, Coe, Ovett or Elliott over 800m. Ovett was the slowest 800m guy of the four with 1.44.1 (and an Olympic gold medal) yet you reckon he'll run faster than all four over 1500m?!

He's not quick enough to run 1500m FULL STOP. Now get over him and find someone else who could do something on the World Stage like Tegenkamp!

Here's what will happen - Webb will put himself in a position to win, meaning he'll be near the front with 100 to go. However, he will be dropped on the final stretch.

Since the winning time will be about 3:29.5, he will be about 1 to 1.5 seconds behind that. So I'll say 3:31 flat.

You don't have to be able to run top notch 800 times to be a top notch 1500 guy. Webb is much more of a strength guy, with solid speed. He's got 1:45 right now (I think he can go faster) but has the strength to hold a very fast pace longer. Coe, Ovett, Cram, and Elliott seems to me, were more of the speed type 1500 guys, and it seems they raced a lot more 800 than Webb has as well.

I have returned from the Planet of the Apes and Webb ran- 3:31.6

He ran a great race and screamed and flexed his muscles after. Carol Lewis asked him how he felt out there and why he didn't win.

I'm not making any predictions about Webb's 1500m time tonight or this season for that matter, but your reference to 800m times and their implications for 1500m performances is a little misplaced - Morceli ran 1:44.8 for 800m (well slower than those 4 guys), yet he ran 3:27.37 for 1500m, which is a 2.3 seconds faster than Cram, 2.4 seconds faster than Coe, 3.4 seconds faster than Ovett and at least 4 seconds faster than Elliot.

With his current form, his new patience to kick, I beleive he has a great chance to win. He has the guts to go out with the rabbits, and he isn't afraid to wait for the last 50 meters any more. I beleive he will be within .25 ofthe winner if not win the race. With that I beleive the race will be run in 3:30.4 so between there and 3:30.7 for Webb. It's gonna take a great race but he is starting to prove as of lately that he is that good.

Its true I was being sarcastic- Jim Spivey was a underrated kicker, would love to see him in his prime in this race.
