the horse is not dead, that's what they want you to think
do you really think they would kill a horse that will make them millions in stud rights???
I'm not crazy or saying the horse saw something or heard something on the track it should'nt have heard, but the horse is too valuable to kill it

Well, here is someone else to say he made some sense.
BTW, is your handle supposed to look like a horse's mane?

You must be really smart. If you knew anything about the sport, you'd know that these horses are specifically bred to do one thing---run. They are not the same as the little ponies you see at a petting zoo or a horse that some cowboy rides around on. He may not "train" on his own, but he sure as hell wouldn't be content staying in his stall. I'm pretty sure that his owners had that in mind when they made the decision to euthanize him. If you want to play ball, do some research first, junior.
Just because the horse was bred to run doesn't mean it would have done it naturally, which I believe that is was the previous poster was getting at. I was bred to be a champion porn star, but I decided to go into the insurance business instead.
something bad is going on here mafia related

Translation please?
the mafia killed Barbaro???????? why???
Rexing vs. Barbaro. Who wins? Discuss.
did they at least jerk his ass off before he croaked?
Fot all the pathetically stupid people that have no clue about horses. Back in the late 60's my Grandad gave me a horse that was a runner. He gave it to me because he knew that I liked to ride and that horse liked to run. The horse would rather run than walk or canter. Another reason my Grandad gave him to me was because that horse was so bored in a corral that when he did get a chance to work herding cattle he just wanted to run.
We became great pals the first summer I had him. Before he even thought about obeying rudimentary commands he had to run at least a half mile usually full out. Then it was like, I have that out of my system what do you want to do now? We usually ended up going down to a local shallow river that had a sandy bottom and just exploring. This might take several hours and cover up to 10 miles. When he got bored doing that we'd do something similar to intervals. Again because he wanted to haul ass. Anyway my long winded point is horses are smart. Way smarter than most people give them credit for. And by god some of them do love to run. And this was just a good old boy ranch horse. I can only imagine what high strung race horses are like.
what was your horse's name???

Would the horse be wearing regular horse shoes or trainers? Would Rexing be wearing horse shoes?

Does it matter? Rexing would have him for lunch! Oh, wait....
So he looked up the best way to train himself, hired a trainer and made sure he ate right? Did he decide which races to do and which not to? He ever give interviews?
Of course not. He's a horse. I'm sure he meant a lot to you, and that's fine. If I had a horse I'd probably like him too, but Barbaro isn't my horse. I don't like when my dogs die but I didn't cry when I heard that Eddie from Frasier died.
eddie from frasier died today too??????? when will it end, it is like a plague has started in the animal kingdom today

Well, I didn't "know" Pre either. Was I allowed to be upset when he died?
Having grown up in proximity to Louisville, I can tell you that horses are marvelous athletes. No, they may not think like a human, but they are athletes just the same.
If you don't have an appreciation for thoroughbred horses, that's OK, but there is no need for some of the idiocy.
Of course it's a bit sad, but I agree with those who say the whole thing has been blown way out of proportion. A $1.3 million dollar fund for a horse raft and operating table? More news coverage than what's given to 99% of the troops who have lost their life serving our country? You could list soooo many things that should be more notable, more deserving of a feeling of sadness, and more deserving of people's charitable contributions than the injury and death of a horse, no matter how fast he was.
You can keep on slamming horses but they are great animals. My Grandad sold the horse when I starting running serious mileage, discovered girls, cars etc. I've never been to a horse race in my life but for those of you that read Seabuiscit or saw the movie horses have distinct personalites and can be lazy as any super talented athlete that refuses to put in the training. They can love to compete just like some of you guys and gals here.
you SOLD your friend????
Father Figure is the only one of you wackos that has made a lick of sense.
Sure, it is sad that the horse is gone, but c'mon.
