Of course there is. Whether you like it or not, the conversions are not records. Take it up with Usatf, track and field news and National Federation of HS Athletics.
At the very minimum, what would a 9:39 2 miler split in a 3200? Somewhere in 9:35.x.
No idea why you got downvoted because yes, that's correct.
Congrats. I think some of these young runners are overtraining, but who knows. There is also now the supershoe factor. What made Tuohy's record fascinating is that she took a test, got in the car, drove over to some nondescript high school track, wore just normal running shoes and just broke the record no frills style. Six years is a long time for a record to last, especially with technology changes.

Leachman runs 30 miles per week. Not sure why you think that's overtraining.
How many miles per week did Touhy run per week in high school? Hint - A lot more than 30 miles.
From what I hear Leachman does a lot of cross training. Just like with Valby, mileage is not the only thing. Whether it is too little, just right, or too much I will leave to others to judge. But like with Valby, it seems to be working.

How do you determine what is overtraining? Is it just some arbitrary amount that you think is excessive? I would guess different people are capable of handling a different amount of training. If they're running well and staying healthy, chances are, they aren't overtraining.
I'd be much more concerned about the eating habits of some of these girls. It's easier to know what a healthy amount of food is and it has a far bigger impact on long term health and performance. Looking at the girls who are in the lists of top runners who disappeared or dealt with injuries for an extended period, they commonly seem to show signs of unhealthy eating.
Why is the video not on Milesplit? We are in 2024 and can't find the record breaking race. Strange.
There is no video of the race. This was a small insignificant meet so it wasn't streamed.
And none of Leachman's family, friends, or coaches recorded it because it wasn't a record attempt. It was just a 3200 then 800 workout that wasn't intended to be a record. Why would someone take a video of a workout?
Leachman running 9:45 was a happy accident.
I wonder how fast Leachman will run when she is actually trying to break a 2 mile or 5k record?

Astro doesn't really think that Leachman is overtraining. Astro just likes to say negative things about any other girl who comes close to, or breaks, one of Touhy's records. He couldn't think of anything legitimately bad to say about Leachman so he made up overtraining.
This is just how Astro does things. He is too obssessed with Touhy to be objective about other girls.
Milesplit has the meet results and videos but I do not see a 3200 in which she ran. Even checked the boys 3200s. Very odd.
You were looking at the wrong meet on Milesplit. There was another high school meet in San Antonio yesterday with videos of the races on Milesplit, but that wasn't the meet that Elizabeth Leachman ran in.
Here are the results from Leachman's 9:45.57 3200 race:

This is true. Everyone is well aware of him going after Wiley, Valby, Cook, and Hutchins, but he did everything possible to try to discredit Brynn Brown, too. 14-page thread - he starts his rants on page two and continues until page 14. I don't think a single page fails to have at least 3-4 posts from him, and usually more.
Posted via her insta. She’s on another level. Converts to about an 8:59 3000m. Brown >>> Tuohy https://www.letsrun.com/news/2020/05/high-schooler-brynn-brown-runs-second-best-3200-in-us-hs-girls-history/
Katelyn was a part of a three times National Champion cross country team and was a 4 time NCAA individual champion. Not sure what you mean by dodging the competition there
3 times Nxn champion not national champion. Lane was the national champion those years. 😉

News flash, in high school, in addition to her mileage, Tuohy cross trained, as well.

I think you misunderstood what was said. "Katelyn was a part of a three times National Champion cross country team" ie NC State
