I just don’t see the point in why she ran it that way. Obviously she was just going for the win, and not a national qualifier, so why expend so much energy?
Maybe she'll comment on this in a post-race interview.
Roe up for the 3rd time tonight in a few minutes. She’s doing the mile leg of the DMR. Tonight’s been a lot already - mile heat, winning the 5k, now the DMR.
Tomorrow she’s listed in both the mile final and the 3000m.

I just don’t understand why she closed that 5000 so fast when it was unneccessary.

Would have to look at splits again, but when she took it down to 36-37 sec laps, she was still in 2nd or third place. She could hold that pace, while others faded.

Yeah, it did seem a bit unnecessary. But, maybe she just wanted to be sure of the win…running a bit scared maybe..she’s obvs very competitive and Logue is an excellent runner.

Okay, this is making more sense now. Roe is NOT in the DMR.

Jepkirui is running the 1600 leg.
This definitely makes a lot more sense given tonight and tomorrow’s schedule. But they did change it only at the last minute.
Not that I know of. She's in Stillwater rn and has been running (weather permitting) I've yet to ask her, but I imagine that since she already has her 5k qualifier, she's just waiting for nationals as she is a little more injury prone and racing is hard.
