Looks like Power is taking some athletes to WashU this weekend. I wonder how the guys he's leaving at home and not racing until April 16 feel about him picking favorites. At the least he could enter his other athletes at St. John's. Some of those 1500m and steeple seed times are highly ambitious for this time of year.
That’s a pretty good meet when All-Americans don’t make the fast heat. It’s likely most of the Oles aren’t fast enough to run there. It does suck that he’s not racing the rest of the team for a few weeks. Maybe he really wants a training period after a disappointing indoor season for many.
I’m more interested to see what Kaluza does in his first 10K this weekend. If he’s healthy, he’s automatic scorer and can challenge some of the lesser Oles for fourth or fifth and should be top 4 in the steeple the next day. A very smart mode by Maxwell here.
Most Oles aren't racing until mid April because their spring break is next week.

The previously mentioned Johnnies running a 10K. And the rest appear to be tempoing 1500 based on their seeds. Speaking of tempos, are the Gusties not racing this week? I see the other Tyler Smith entered in the 400m.
And the triumphant return of Jaeden Frost to the hammer ring.
Getting Kevin & Jaeden back along with a more fit and fired up Tommy puts the Johnnies right in contention with Bethel for team title.
If the Oles are on Spring Break who will be inspecting the shoes during the races at St. John’s this weekend? What if someone has illegal shoes likes a pair of trainers?!
Did Power take fast finish results to the WashU meet? Good luck trying to see if the Oles ran fast or not.
Skemp ran 30:14. Gael 30:42. I think both are small PR's. The live results were the worst I've ever seen. Surprised more Oles didn't race yesterday. Turlington appears to be resting. Top Saint Mary's guys are racing today with some also running at St. Louis University.
What sort of bonkers workout did the Oles do yesterday? First Power cuts half their season by not racing the full team until Mid April and then this weird relay meet practice.

Oles ran fast times for March. Will they peak too early? Will Skemp run four 10K's this season?
More importantly, Turlington has run national level times in each time he has run the mile and 1500 this year. Why would they not race him in the event more?

This Power?
Yep. He won’t let us run over ten miles either. His plan to stay low mileage and do lots of push-ups had paid off for several freshmen who can now run a 4:50 mile and bench press 200 lbs.
After a series of monster PR’s when do we expect The Future to open his steeple season? I’m predicting 8:57-8:58 in his first race.
Some dark horse steeplechasers to look out for this season:
Achar from Carleton. Looks healthy and ready to show his fitness this season.
Pouliot from GAC. Has been doing some good work down in St. Peter, and looks ripe to have a breakout steeple season.
Torstenson from Carleton. Has been getting better every season and has a Wilkinsonesque stride. Dave may just cook again.
