I wonder how close the pacing/formation was to their recommendations. It looked like there was no one directly ahead of her for a bunch of it, was that intentional?
(I still doubt that perfect execution would result in sub-4, just saying this might not have been it.)
If she ignored the posted, intended pace and just used the pacers, she could be just under her personal best.
She did the smart thing and ignored the sub 4:00 attempt (that was NEVER going to happen) and she avoided the big, embarrassing blow up by NOT running that crazy 1200 time they posted.
Good for her. I didn't want to see her blow up spectacularly.
As for female empowerment... having the men clearly jogging along and waving her in was a TERRIBLE look.
Why on earth is everyone so negative? 4:06 for a woman is amazing. Unlike anything we have ever seen before. What’s wrong with bringing attention to the sport for once?
