Coverage is bad for every major marathon. It's not political -- it's driven by money. Execs think this kind of coverage will keep people tuned in. There are few people tuned in who can name everyone in the lead pack. So they should do the work to hype up the elite side of the sport & cover the racing. LRC should do some digging and find out why the elite side of races are (always) covered like this.
Euro marathons like Berlin and Valencia usually have a good elite-only broadcast
Watching the women racing I was thinking that running is truly unique in that technique is not important, judging by the (subjectively) horrible form of some of the Kenyan women leaders. Ethiopian women, in general, look a lot smoother and efficient. Kenyan men, on the other hand, usually look efficient with good form.
Wish Mantz would stop leading. Seems like he's setting himself up for an Emma Bates-type performance where he runs great but costs himself a couple places by leading so much
Generally agree, but that's where he's comfortable. He runs that way all the time. It's probably better for him to just run his style of race.

I love the American ones except Chicago (we never see who is in second place )they do great split screens
