Josh is an 8:00 2 miler 1500m WC. Barega ran 12:43 as an 18 y.o. Wale has run a 7:24i 3k. Nuguse has been running at this level for 1 year. He still finished 2nd.
Final 800ms for the top 5:
(1500 guys)
1 Josh Kerr 60.27, 52.64
2 Yared Nuguse 60.40, 53.01
(5k guys)
3 Selmon Barega 60.29, 53.38
4 Getnet Wale 60.21, 54.65
5 Olin Hacker 60.27, 54.51
The way Kerr closed that was more impressive than the outdoor Worlds.
If Jakob is adamant about front running then he’s going to have to turn the screw on the second full lap.
Bol and Klaver were stupendous. 23.5 at the break with clear air between them and the Americans.
Femke just looks so amazingly relaxed, I cannot wait to see her outdoors.
Klaver held on well and despite Holmes closing in the last 50m, it was already over thanks to the big gap after 250m.
Holmes has also put together 3 really good races this weekend.
I will say, I did notice little congratulations between Holmes and Bol. After the SF Holmes was straight off the track without acknowledging Bol, who was going round to the other finishers and saying good run etc. After the final again there was little interaction. That mixed 4x4 has created a rivalry!
I noticed the minimal congratulations too. Thought it was pretty classless. If there is a rivalry, I think it is one sided; doubt Bol loses much sleep over her!!
I wish Holmes had raced a little more aggressively. She saved a lot for the last 75. There was room on the backstretch to get closer without being too close to Klaver. I think she would beat her in an outdoors 400 right now.
I love Yared but I don’t see him ever winning a gold medal at this rate…he just does not have the killer instinct. He’ll get a few more medals before his career ends but I just don’t see how he can get gold unless he has a bit of a mindset adjustment.
really? His NCAA wins make me think he has what it takes. This is only his 2nd global championship and he got silver, after coming 5th in his first global championship. Kerr and Jakob both had more than 2 global championships under their belt before they won. I think he knows he could’ve won today if he’d gone earlier, and I think he’ll remember that come the Olympics.
Bol just explained on Dutch TV that everything went as planned; going out hard and going into lap 2 in this order was a well-executed team effort. Excellent pacemaking by Bol.
He really is the perfect 60 metres hurdles runner. Flawless technique at his best. He's got more trouble with the 110 metres because of his incredible pace.

I asked this in a different thread. With the one & done false start rule, does his incredible 10 year unbeaten streak end with a false start? Or would it be seen as a DNS? Mind blowing what he's doing!

Holmes runs a PB, Klaver doesn't yet still beats her. Klaver has gone under 50 three times, Holmes none. Yet Holmes would beat her. So far, Holmes claim to fame is one relay leg, which Klaver has also run faster. But Holmes is better.

Got it.
Trajectories, don’t know what to tell you.
You mean speculation, based on Nationalism. Klaver is the one trending upwards and at a higher level.
Not cool Hobbs. Your ankle was tweaked hours ago, yet you are choosing to make a big scene and delay the race. Lame.
Let’s hope she didn’t suddenly sustain a serious Achilles injury.
Loved the reaction post race of these sprinters. so much joy!
Can we get an LRC boots on the ground report on Hobbs injury? If she hurt her Achilles badly, it’s already obvious based on her physical exam. Let’s go LRC journalists….effort this one.
