Is this for real? If so, how are her parents on board with this? Yikes.
And not that I don't believe you, is there another less insane version of events? How do you think she and her parents would describe her choices and her situation?
She was failed by multiple adults, including her parents, multiple times. She could run 3:48 and win world medals and never fail a drug test. None of that will change how the adults who were supposed to protect her failed miserably.
Finishing 5th at U20 Worlds was an unbelievable experience. I didn't even run my best in the finals but still ran fast enough to contend for the NCAA national title as a high schooler. Why would I want to leave a coach and support network that helped guide me to a national record and a top 5 World finish? As many of you know I accomplished that working with Lauren Johnson, who has always been a family friend and great mentor of mine. When I got back from worlds I told Lauren I wanted to continue working with her. I put her in a very tough position. She supported me going to CU and even helped arrange other school visits for me, but it's my life and she has always wanted me to be able to decide what is best for myself. I uncommitted from CU with nothing but respect and admiration for Coach Wetmore and Burroughs. I just don't think the Division 1 system is for me at this time. I've had such a successful end to my high school career and if my goals are beyond collegiate running I'll have to do some unique training to nurture that talent. I'm very excited about going to HU and the NIL options I have been able to explore because of it.
Indiana standout and recent Huntington North grad Addy Wiley has de-committed from Colorado and will stay close to home and attend Huntington University.

Sadly, yes. As insane as it is this all sounds it's public and in the court docs.
A cross-country coach has been accused of sexually abusing high-school and college runners and forcibly injecting them with drugs for a “study” he claimed was backed by Nike.
Maybe. But I succeeded in preventing the scandal from being whitewashed or derailed despite all the crude machinations. Do these yahoos actually think the "downvotes" are effective? Lol.
When the first reports of the HU scandal broke, there was a deliberate and constant derailment and denial of service effort that lasted for days. Eventually that discussion had to be consolidated into a single thread that had to be locked for unregistered users only. So this has gone on repeatedly. This thread was started by someone who appears to have an unusual vested interest in boosting this athlete and rubbing everyone's faces in the scandal. The speculation is a person or persons directly tied to HU. No one likes you to speak too truthfully about the subject of doping on this site, so some of the downvote could be spontaneous. But generally it appears to be another concerted effort to derail discussion or to get posts reported and deleted. Would only take one person with an ip scrambler. It is clearly not natural message board behavior.
11 down votes in 5 minutes. That doesn't happen on even the most controversial threads.
The Wileys think they can manipulate the votes on this thread to make it appear a majority believes them.
I don't really understand why anyone would downvote articles written in the DailyBeast, Milesplit, Runnerspace, and so on. Here is Runnersworld. No one is making this stuff up.
"the lawsuit states that they were victims of a coach who “gave Larry Nassaresque massages all the while acting like Lance Armstrong’s Tour de France pharmacist injecting unknown substances into" their bodies."

Speaking of truth, you say that it's fact that drug tests are way behind the offenders. How do you know that? Have there ever been any studies done where a control group was micro dosed and then tested? I'd like some proof other than you just claiming it over and over.
You really should be ashamed. Here's a 19 year old kid running some great times at a small school. She isn't making a dime for her running. She is drug tested like every other runner. You come on this site and drag her name through the mud without one iota of proof. It's truly disgusting.

I believe the reporter, Woods? that broke the story originally in their local media market eventually got fired didn’t he? That’s a real coincidence, isn’t it? Just scandals on top of scandals. I thought national media loves these salacious stories to boost their ratings. Need to get a national level investigative reporter on this, like someone from one of the major mainstream media networks.

He departed, not fired. He reports for Dyestat now. Wiley won't allow him to interview her so she interviews with the other guy over there.
People keep pretending that the credibly accusations against the Johnsons are not evidence. I did not create this scandal, but whitewashing it seems far more shameful than talking about it honestly. Sorry but I am not ashamed of calling this scandal out when it unfortunately crops up, nor in standing up for the integrity of this sport, such as it is. You seem more interested in being an apologist or agnostic. Ok. Suit yourself.

I understand the circumstances around her school. I also can understand a kid staying close to home to stay with the coach she already knows and likes. An 18 year old kid possibly didn't understand the microscope she would be under by following this coach. This is a high school kid attending a school no one has ever heard of (other than for the scandal). This is not a football qb getting hundreds of thousands of NIL dollars to go to a top 5 football school.
You didn't answer my first question. Have there ever been any scientific studies where a control group was micro dosed under a variety of conditions and then tested? Or are you just making a statement based on anecdotal evidence?
