Smoove, I'm replying to you because you're one of the best posters on here.
The thing that a lot of people are saying, but perhaps not clearly enough is that it's not the guy's marathon time that is surprising; it's his physique. He has the very clear look of a doper, and to look like that while doing marathon training pushes it to nearly a sure thing.
Here's where the running comes in though: the best argument against him being a doper is to say "well, maybe he has really good genetics for being jacked. Maybe his brother was a bodybuilder and his son is a professional rugby player. This guy could be an huge outlier in the musculature department."
But we know that in fact he's a huge outlier in running speed. So he would have to have exceptional genetics both for marathon running, and for body-building. Even considering them independent factors, but and even more so since they tend to negatively correlate, it's just absurd.
Again, it's not that an extremely talented runner couldn't run that fast while being that jacked; it's that an extremely talented runner couldn't become that jacked at all.
I was hoping when I first saw this thread to be able to make the opposite post, but unfortunately the evidence is very clear. This is a step down from EPO being found in his coach's hotel room.
