Women's race is stringing out now. Amane Beriso, the runner-up in 2023, is making a big push coming out of the drinks station during mile 10. Only six women with her now, including Lokedi, Obiri, and Yehualaw.

Sounds exciting. They’re interviewing Hug and showing the women’s wheelchair race. Keep us posted.
CJ will run 2:09:37 or 2:10:59...or very close to it.
If the pace is even remotely close to honest, Mantz breaks 2:08 (2:07:14). The entire race the announcer keeps stating "he looks like he's go to drop a deuce"
Clayton Young runs 2:08:13.
The winner. Some guy who was not born in the USA
Side note: Salazar comes out of the woods, 43 years after his victory, and wins the Master's Race in 2:11:11 but is not seen till the last 1/4 mile of the race, is disqualified, but vehemently files a protest. A final decision won't be decided for years.
Thanks for the 6 down votes, I love it! Runners getting all riled up on the morning of the Boston Marathon;)
They leach off of marathoning. The courses are already shut down for them otherwise they could afford to perform. I don't mind that it exists, I mind that it ruins the TV coverage.. put pressure on the announcers to talk shop the first half of the marathon and treat it like a real sport.
Yep. Sad truth is that viewership would be in the hundreds if their race wasn't attached to the marathon. They wouldn't even be able to get support to shut down roads for a course if they were detached.
I don't mind them piggybacking on running but they shouldn't play this game that this is what viewers are tuning in for.
Posts here seem to think ESPN and the race organizers are stupid and aren’t showing what people really want to see. That’s because people here are interested in watching the marathon, but most people don’t care to see a bunch of Africans running in the lead or unheard of Americans a few minutes behind the lead pack.
Their coverage is likely about as good as it gets for optimizing eyeballs.

Simply not true, most people know who Conner Mantz and Clayton Young are now, they are both in the lead back still....
