The USADA web site clearly says that the sample count for Wiley is 2 but that sample count does not equate to the number of tests as multiple samples are often collected during a test session. The obvious inference is that Wiley has been tested once and that two samples were taken at that time unless, I guess, her USADA page previously showed only one sample count. Does anyone know if that were the case?
If you look her up by year on the USADA website, it reports two samples were collected from her in q2 last year, and one sample was collected in q2 this year. So USADA has tested at least twice, and maybe 3x.
It is also possible that she has been tested by other agencies such as the NAIA or the AIU. If so, those tests would not show up on the USADA site. Like the NCAA, the NAIA is not part of the WADA/USADA testing system. The USADA also would only track any tests carried from the U20 Worlds last summer that it had ordered; thus tests ordered by the AIU would not show up on the USADA website.
Thanks for the correction. If you leave the year open, evidently it just returns the most recent result.
I’m struggling why people are so confused how she’s a doper! Half the team said they were being forced to take weird stuff. She basically comes out of nowhere and became a 4:24 miler. Says she still works with those losers. Come on guys. She’s a mess. She’s been manipulated and she’s probably taking some weird “multi vitamins.”
They are either in denial or dishonest. Everytime the HU situation unfortunately comes up there are attempts to ban the discussion or manipulate the downvote function. Her coaches/mentors have been credibly accused of doping their athletes and have demonstrated a complete lack of ethical boundaries. And the Shelby analogy is perfectly warranted. Once HU was not shutdown and the Johnsons were allowed to continue coaching this athlete, this situation was easily predictable. They were not just going to stop their illicit practices and they see this athlete as their ticket.

1. There is a legitimate concern and suspicion that this athlete is not clean, and that shouldn't be controversial to say so. Her coaches have been credibly accused of doping athletes with EPO. Even the ones who support them believe they were injected with L-Carnitine. Addy chose to remain at Huntington so she could be coached by them. She has supported and stood by them. This "The Future is so Bright I gotta wear Shades!!!" is stupid and baiting and you know it OP. Quit it.
2. There is also a legitimate concern she is a victim of abuse, and that she continues to be one. It's frustrating to watch from the sidelines while an athlete who continues to make headlines might be in danger, and we know it. It's like watching the Duggars when they were on TLC--you just knew that these kids were being mistreated, but we just all had to smile and nod.
3. Using 1 or 2 against Addy, to gas up Katelyn or another runner is gross.
4. We can both care about Addy's wellbeing and also care about the integrity of the sport, which does mean being critical of her performances, because there is enough evidence to do so.
5. We can hold Addy accountable for victim blaming the runners who came forward with allegations against the Johnsons while also having sympathy for her situation.
L-carnitine isn't banned. People only attack its usage when they don't like the coach. Salazar used L-Carnitine for great success; as The New York Times states, "L-carnitine is a substance that occurs naturally in the body and helps convert fat to energy. As a supplement, it is not a banned substance, according to the World Anti-Doping Agency."
A college coach admitted injecting substances into his athletes, and even the athletes who defended the Johnsons admit receiving them. If you want to believe that was just vitamins, ok. But that a coach is injecting his athletes with anything is already insane.
That said, as I recall it from a very informative doping thread regarding NOP, injections of i-carnitine and viamin D are used to maximize microdosing with androgen steroids while thyroid medicines are used to facilitate epo use, hence the influx of thyroid medication TUEs. The injection of i-carnitine is not exculpatory, but the complete opposite. It is meant to maximize the effects of steroid microdosing, which is used to dope while avoiding detection. This was a Dr. Brown/NOP specialty.
PS-And as I stated, there is already a clear attempt to suppress honest discussion by the downvote function. Likely one or two people with an IP scrambler. But. I. Don't. Care.

It makes you look like a COMPLETE HACK when you accuse Wiley when she has passed drug tests but your favorite athlete Tuohy has not.
You have ZERO credibility left between your criticisms here and your accusations of Valby.
It is obvious that any time a young talent runs faster than Tuohy, you will come to this board to SLANDER and DEFAME them. I really hope someone sues you or LRC for allowing this.
Pot meet kettle. Again, REGISTERED USER (LOL), what do I have wrong about the HU scandal? Did athletes from HU accuse the Johnsons of doping them or not? Did Nick Johnson admit giving his athletes injections or not? Did Nick Johnson, per the criminal indictment against him, sexually abuse/assault his female athletes, making any claims about his integrity utterly farcical? Did a 19 year old athlete suddenly run much, much faster than she has all year to magically run what would be the No. 2 all-time NCAA time? If being concerned about the integrity of the sport given this sorry situation is "defamation" or "libel", then I suggest you educate yourself. But being a mere hack, by all means edify me. I keep asking to be shown how I'm wrong and I am met with rants or silence.

How are you wrong? She's passed every drug test she's taken.
You refuse to accept this fact by lying the accuracy of drug tests. So according to your logic there's no way for ANY athlete to be proven clean. If you believe that, why even follow the sport?
Tuohy's 19 second PR in the 3k was way more suspicious after losing to a D3 athlete earlier in the season. And Tuohy's never passed a drug test.

Sifan Hassan has also passed every drug test she's taken.
So I guess I have the HU scandal completely right despite being a libelous hack or whatever. Shock.
And are you new to this whole topic? The tests barely touch the tip of the iceberg. You know that already. Again have I caused that? There is still a big gap between doping and detection. That is just the reality. So you apparently believe that two race day tests are definitive, which is absurd. Even out of competition testing misses the vast majority of cases, especially with things like microdosing, masking and a narrow window of detection, and there is zero evidence of any serious out of competition testing here. These are not exactly new issues. How many tests did Houlihan "pass" before she was caught, and that was likely deliberate sabotage as much as anything? Here we have something damning, the public accusations against the Johnsons by former athletes, something that is almost unique. That constitutes very compelling evidence that things are amiss and raises very legitimate questions of athletic integrity.
In desperation you keep trying to drag KT into it. Yawn. I must have missed anything resembling the HU scandal in her resume, but if you have anything, I am all ears. You can "accuse" KT if you want and if it makes you feel better, you just have nothing to back it up with, and certainly not a scandal of these proportions. And that D3 athlete was a 26 year old pro who runs at BU as her home course. LOLL.

Wait are you now saying Shelby Houlihan's positive drug test was a result of sabotage? Who sabotaged her? So you think Houlihan is actually clean?
So your favorite athletes can literally have positive drug tests (Shelby) and you will defend them, but you'll slander Valby and Wiley with no evidence. Rojo - can you ban this guy already?

You willfully misinterpreted. Houlihan was dirty as hell as I argued a dozen times. Just the AIU may have had an informant as the speculation goes, which might explain why she was finally caught. You are grasping at straws. If you think this situation involves no evidence given the public scandal, then so be it. And to the other situation you want to drag my feet over the coals for, recall that initially it was misreported that she had run the fastest 6K time in NCAA history by 20 seconds and people were pushing very flawed conversion algorithms that were claiming a converted time of 14:40 out of no where, which would have been faster than all but the fastest US pros. After the smoke cleared after a day I said at the time it was a false alarm. Cannot possibly say that about this situation.

The people she associates with will ultimately be her downfall
Now that she has run 4:03, I am listening. She is amazingly fast. But I am out of the loop and don't want to read 500 posts to catch up on her college situation. Can someone answer two questions:
1. Why did she opt against Colorado in favor of the NAIA Huntington? What was her reason?
2. Was she somehow connected to what happened at Huntington University? If so, how? If not, then why did she stay there?
Is this for real? If so, how are her parents on board with this? Yikes.
And not that I don't believe you, is there another less insane version of events? How do you think she and her parents would describe her choices and her situation?
Unfortunately it as insane as it sounds, and Nick Johnson is currently facing prison. There is a whole thread where there are links to the police reports and legal filings, and it has also been reported in the newspapers. It is the craziest scandal in all of college distance running and people get upset with me for not whitewashing it.
