Go to the bedroom. Get in the bed. Close your eyes. Relax. Go to sleep.
Not everyone is so lucky to be able to sleep well. I've been dealing with insomnia for around 20 years or so and every night is difficult. I've tried everything under the sun and I've even flown to go see a top notch sleep specialist for a sleep study but nothing seems to work (not even sleeping pills).
I get anywhere from 90 minutes to 4 hours of sleep per night (maybe 3-3.5 on average). Every once in a while I'll get lucky and grab 5 hours but that is fairly rare. Also, this is almost never uninterrupted sleep. The longest I can typically go without waking up is 2 hours. Needless to say, this impacts my running as well as every other aspect of my life but at this point I pretty much just accept it for what it is.
