I think it is fair to say that the Coe system is inferior for anything above 1500m. Another difference is the consistent
use of altitude training multiple times per year.
Lewandowski for a medal in a slow race, FI has higher top-end speed that JI, I believe.

He just went out in 1:49 and then continued to gap the field. If he somehow hasn’t hit peak fitness, he’ll have the ability to just run away from the field. He’s a class of his own right now.

Coe went through 800m in his Stockholm WR attempt in 1:49.1 thanks to James Robinson, and was left on his own before the 800 mark. Robinson went out so fast, he didn't even give Coe any drafting. The potato Tim split was for the pacemaker, so Coe reached 800m nearly a second faster than Tim, with no drafting, and had to run the last two laps completely on his own, with not even a field to push him in any sense. Still finished with a 3:31, of course, on probably a much inferior track.
How does Cheruiyot’s 1200-1300-1400 splits compare with El G’s?
