1:20 is not a BQ? Isn't it all a matter of context? What if a 70 year old male ran a 1:20 half (the current world record is 1:21 by John Gilmour)? Shouldn't someone of that caliber be eligible to run Boston? I'm sure if would be difficult to figure out where to draw the line between what should or shouldn't constitute a BQ worthy half standard, but I think it's something BAA should consider. Like Agip (and many, many other masters runners), I know from experience that it keeps getting harder and harder to stay injury free the older we get. Surviving two marathon training cycles in a year and a half is a tall order.
