Did a triathlon finish where he high fived everyone in the crowd over the last 100m.

No idea if that is true...but pretty strange if so.

Pretty strange to walk the last 50-75m though, that's for sure.

I didn't see the race but maybe he was a pacer and instead of droing out he decided to jog through the finish?

49 seconds for 100m would be some serious jogging!

That said, I'm 99% certain he was a competitor in the race and not pacing.

i don't think you can bonk a 1500m race....

he must've just walked the last 100. you can see him in the video, still running hard during the last lap. he never fell either.

This is very suspicious (and in his case, concerning) that he is even being rumoured to have walked the last 100m. My impression is that if he was still running hard and looking at a 3:38 finish, something must have slowed him to the point of a jog or even a walk.

I'm suspecting he must have either picked up an injury during the race or went on the start line with a minor injury that clearly got worse as the race went on and forced him to a very slow jog and even a walk late in the race.

Maybe he pulled an Ukhov

I would have thought that too, but judging from

, nothing was wrong with him, he was just disappointed to have started too fast and got reeled in in the end... so he stopped running.

Exactly.

Rupp or Centrowitz would have just stepped off the track, but at least M.B. bothered to jog through the finish line on the way to a post-race workout.
