This is absolutely false. Nearly every 1500m race in the Diamond League is faster than anything Centro's run lately. Sure, the races aren't won in 3:26, but the typical low 3:3x race is plenty for someone who can barely run faster than 3:35 more than once in a season.

"there are only a few 1500 faces a year with the potential for fast times" is irrelevant for Centrowitz. Relevant for guys capable of 3:28 or faster, but not him.

Don't see any bashing of Centro. I think "How low can he go" is in reference to how low his time can go down, because he is preparing for a PR type race. I think it was just a tricky title to get people to click the topic. If it was a bash on not doing USA's that is just dumb.

The point is that not every DL meet has a men's 1500. Paris and Zurich don't have one. Of the remaining meets maybe only Monaco and Brussels include the event.

Agree. I do think there is maybe a little disrespect to the Nat'l meet & competitors. But he owes nobody anything towards running USA's.

Centro always seems to get 7th or thereabouts. Same deal here, with a 3:34. Yawn

Exactly. Centro is a 3:34-3:37 regular guy who can once a year dip into the 3:32-3:33 range (which ain't nothing special on the international stage). The guy is a racer, but not a race horse. Any legit international 1500 will give him plenty of people to be pulled along by.

He said his goal this season is to consistently be up front, which will require low 3:3x. That is a good goal.

He is a proven championship racer. Now he wants to be a circuit racer.

That's his seasons goal.

I think he may be better than he was at Pre and there are a couple big names missing in this race. I say 3-4 place with around 3:31. He missed indoors so he is probably a bit more likely to be improving outdoors while other guys are tiring.

Yeah lots of rigid thinking going on here. Of course Centrowitz can and will PR. It's certainly more likely that he can break 3:30 than Kiplagat improving over 3 seconds for a world record.

I think Centrowitz won't be satisfied until he at least beats Farah's 1500 PR. It's got to bug him that a 5/10K specialist is 2 seconds faster than him in his own event.

PErfect. People have said the same thing over and over again. We (and he) have to keep in mind that he's only 24, and AlSal probably doesn't even have him truly peaking yet. Like most, he'll continue to improve for most of his 20s.

I sure hope to god Centro races well. Should shut up all the critics and make poeple not talk about the god damn centro sauce.

Read the entire post, not just the misleading subject line. Letsrun is asking how fast Centro will run, as in "how low of a time?"
