Even if he's older he's still not older than the Jr's and Sr's he's beating. Besides after this year, he'll turn pro.

You think wrong, he was 19yo in high school when ran 8:39 and admits he was at least that age.

I think Cheserek is just 19 years old, and he doesn't look that old to me. So, why all the smack about age? This kid looks like any other high school senior or college freshman, that is until he steps a foot on the track and jets past everyone.

Oregon is going for a team title and will want to spread it's guys out
So how do you spread their studs out from 800-10K?
2014 Schedule:
WED 10K & 800 (Semi)
THU 1500 (Semi)
FRI 5K & 800 (Final)
SAT 1500 (Final)
Here is my optimal lineup:
Ed Cheserek (10K/5K/1500 = 1 race a day)
Parker Stinson (10K/5K)
Trevor Dunbar (10K/1500)
Eric Jenkins (5K/1500)
Brett Johnson (1500)
Mac Fleet (800 would be a bold move if this happened it probably wont)
Boru Guyota (800)
As a result:
10K 3 Scorers (10, 6, 4)
5K 3 Scorers (10, 6, 5)
1500 4 Scorers (8, 6, 4, 3)
800 2 Scorers (8, 3)
Total: 73 pts in just 4 events
Also I predict:
Kithuka will do 5K/10K
Lalang will do 1500/5K
Rotich will just do Steeple
I doubt this will happen. Andy Powell respects his athletes development and specifically focuses on not burning them out in college (don't believe any comment to the contrary on this site).
The King would have to do a massive amount of canvasing to make win a case to triple. Unlikely.
Having both the 5000 and 10,000 at NCAAs is such a joke.
"You think wrong, he was 19yo in high school when ran 8:39 and admits he was at least that age"

This is the typical, "if you read it on the internet, it is true" type of comment. Fact is, he is not your typical Kenyan who comes here to the USA, faking his age. The King is a typical freshman (though he looks a little younger).
Give us some Proof that he said he was at least 19 when he was a high school junior and ran that 8:39. I can guarantee that you won't find it, because you have fabricated it.
Well, you stupid fvck, he ran 8:39 on 02/16/2013, use a search engine and you will see his birthday listed as 02/04/1994. Check wikipedia. You do the math. BTW, he was a high school senior when he ran 8:39.

I can tell that you have a vocabulary that is lacking, you don't have to make that fact clear to everyone here on LR.
So, he ran his 8:39 as a hs senior, and he had just turned 19 that month. So, if you choose to believe everything you read on Wikipedia, you believe he might have been a year older than many of his classmates. FACT: He is now a college freshman who is beating young men two and three years older than him. Why don't you save your bitches for young men who go on two year missions, and then come back to college and compete with athletes who are two years younger than them?

Give us some proof that he's really a typical frosh age wise.
LOL.
You can't. His 'birthdate' is a guess. LOL. That IS a fact.
Go back to Hillel House you racist.

57 Points for Oregon's Middle-D/Distance Crew
Cheserek won two indoor titles in large part because Lalang went for a triple. Lalang ran the equivalent of a sub 4 minute mile just a couple hours before the 5000M. What does that tell you?
Saying Cheserek should go for a triple is like saying the Allies should have invaded Russia after Germany surrendered in WW2. It may sound good on the surface. But the lesson of why its a bad idea is standing in plain sight.
actually you sir need a history lesson: when george patton's troops got to berlin, he requested to keep on going into russia!
What happened to Brett Johnson this weekend? Why did they run a frosh on the opening leg instead of him?
I think those projections are solid, but don't forget about Kithuka in the 5k.
This is ridiculous. Grampa ches is way old. All oregon clown college "student" athletes are dopers.
Dat illiteracy... A true Oregon fan
Cheserek triple will be impossible, can you imagine 10k/5k/1500
those are big distances, are you a sprinter or what?
doubling is possible and think its 10k/1500 or 5k/1500. That the only way i can see it, some people here are just ignorant or something or you are not a distance runner or something.

Why? I like watching both races :/

Did you watch the Penn Relays DMR? I think you may want to reconsider this statement.
Running a one off 1600 leg is one thing, but running a fast 1500 after a 10k and 5k is another.
Cheserek could not even win the Dream Mile last year against Saarel. He is a great runner, but would not place that high in an NCAA Champs 1500 after running a 10k, two 5ks, and two 1500s.
I will be the first one to tell you that you are brilliant and I am stupid if he actually runs three finals and places high in all 3, much less wins some.
Yeah. And his request was denied. What of it?

Cheserek is making his collegiate 1500m debut at Pac-12s
I'll say it agian for those who say Ches has no chance in the 1500 he just ran 3:36! getting second to lawi's 3:36 at PAc-12s
