'we can't stop' is a pretty good song; it has a great mood in terms of music matching lyrics; it has some reasonably good lyrics too. People hate on the video but it has good artistic values. The video is vulgar, but despite its vulgarity, it is pretty good.
On the other hand, this new 'wrecking ball' is terrible as a song and almost as bad as a video. It just has nothing going for it. Cyrus does not have the voice to pull it off without autotune dominating the performance. A little bit of autotune is expected these days, and it even goes with heavy digital music reasonably well. But really strong autotune with a background of piano, as in 'wrecking ball', is unmitigated crap. And a video for a song called 'wrecking ball' in which a giant wrecking ball is predominant is just idiotic. It's as if the best the director/designer could do was hit us over the head with a . . . you guessed it . . .
