No Kara did not push her self too hard by running 1 marathon in 2011. YOu called that hard. 4-5 marathons a year is hard.

I don't think Wejo's logic is terrible, but I am surprised he (you) wasn't (weren't) aware of the injury. It was a hot topic on these boards going into the World Championships.

The last couple of weeks have included new info on her training, plus the race result, that indicate she's a big step behind Shalane. Shalane has to be favored, though anything can of course happen.

Abdi in 4th? wtf. Will he even start the race?

I'm debating with wejo, not you. Whether anyone was impressed with her performance at Boston, it wasn't the right thing to do, with all the body changes that happen during and after pregnancy.

NO Kara had 8 months to prepare for Boston. And she' suppose to run a marathon in October.

Why the rhetorical questions? Clearly by posting about Keitany you are trying to point out the course for Desiree was slow.

Why not say that? Clearly if you know that detail you likely are close to the program or a part of it. Desi is a great runner, so is Kara, just because someone didn't pick here isn't the end of the world.

Clearly with what I know now I'd change my picks.

As for Kara and the WC injury I didn't know it was going to sideline her after it. She ran the WCs. If it was going to impact her a lot after I assume she wouldn't have run.

As for the baby and 8 months or whatever it was, I'm not an expert on that type of thing. Kara looked a bit heavier in Boston so to be so close to be top 5 I thought was pretty good. That was all. Not a crazy assumption.

Looks like Desi was 3.5 minutes behind Keitany in the half marathon. All I did for the preview was try and look up what people had done recently.

My only point was that everyone is acting like Deena is 100% cooked and she wasn't too far behind the time Desi was running. No offense meant to Desi. I guess with my picks i was just trying to go against the bandwagon approach to these boards and sports commentary in general.

"Goucher is done", "Desi is clearly America's best", yet somehow yet Kara beat Desi on the track this year? It makes no sense.

I think they're both good runners right now Desi looks like much more of a favorite for the team than Kara.

Any Hanson related thread now seems to stir the pot. People who left the program get absolutely trashed and rivals are criticized too. Supporters of the program don't need to be so defensive. You have arrived. People realize it is a great program.

You should be more annoyed with not knowing what marathon form Deena is in than by comments. I'm annoyed too by Deena Kastor not completing a sept-oct fall marathon 2011. I want to know what times Deena would be running in. I'm callling it 2:36:20 18th place cause she did that in London. Did she finished 18th? I kinda forgot. So she'll failed to make olympic team.

I meant she average less than .5 marathons per 3 years and 4 months.

I don't get the bulk of my info from these boards but actually am in contact with many top runners. I would rather hear it from them and what I witness in a workout versus anonymous posters, but that's my choice.

He (you) are making Kara's injury out to be more than it was. It was a "slight set back" not a "serious" injury that put her out of commission for anything that would be considered long or gravely hurt her current fitness level at the time.

Desi will win unless Shalane is still with her and "outkicks" her. If you are saying Shalane is favored over Kara, absolutely I agree as I've already said I don't see Kara making the team and only an outside chance of 3rd if the stars all align on that day. But Shalane is NOT favored over Desi and I don't know where anyone can come up with a conclusion like that.

You're annoying expecting Deena to run 0 marathons. YOu don't want to see marathon results from Deena Kastor? I want to see results right now!!! This makes me very angry waiting. YOu grow old waiting. I hate waiting for 500 days 20 months 2 years for people to run a single marathon. Run more.

Why Deena wait so long to retire? 2 marathons is not enough in 3 years and 4 months is not enough. I bet Deena will retire on JANUARY 14TH 2012 when she fails to make the team. I was 16 years old in 2008. When Deena retires I'll be 19. She should've retire when I was 16 years old in Beijing. It's annoying waiting for Deena to run a marathon.

How old is Raptured? Bet you're a freaking 50 something years old wanting to wait years for Deena to run a marathon. I'm the youngster at the young age of 19 and have many years of running left. I'm the guy that want racing to happen right away.
