That looks like it should be a double DQ to me. Samuel started trying to force himself between Sahlman and Langon when there wasn't room. Langon responded by shoving Samuel into Sahlman and was clearly trying to take both of them out.
A well-deserved win for Sahlman even if it's not how he wanted it to go down. Amazing that he stayed on his feet and was still able to summon his kick on the final straightaway!
Cornfield is doing a good job at NAU. A couple top ten finishes in XC, 7th place for the men at indoors and Burns with a 1st and 2nd team AA showing in the women's mile and 3K
I mean Marco tried to cut off Habtom and Habtom held his space, and then he shoved Habtom because it didn’t work like it did a few weeks ago. The precedent that got set was you can shove someone into someone else to get the shovee DQd
Dirty Sam almost got away with it. He saw two guys pulling away from him and did the only thing he could to stop them. Push one and trip the other. Glad the officials DQd him. It will make him think twice about pulling something like that again.
An honest post! Sam was pulling some Mo Ahmed crap.

Yeah, just look at all the defenders for Dirty Sam. He caused the whole mess. Sahlman was quite amazing in being able to respond to something like that with a fine sprint. He will run some great 800/1500 times this summer.
Marco said in his interview that he is a “dont think till afterwards” type of guy. He is a dimwit, an embarrassment. Looks like a semi-retarded John Trautman. (and is)
Feel like the up/down votes are going crazy on this thread. It feels like way too close a call for me to take a truly hard stance on. Seems like Langon initiates, doesn't have the momentum to make a clean pass, Samuel tries to hold his position, & Sahlman ends up getting impeded the most. So I guess by that account Sahlman is the right winner. I just dk how Langon comes out unscathed. Samuel has a right in that situation to not get passed. Maybe he was too aggressive with it, but I've seen plenty of runners not get DQd for doing the same thing in that situation. It's a tough one is all I'm saying. & fwiw the Sahlman interview right after the race with John Anderson did not feel good to me. Maybe the lrc one was better. Maybe it was still the heat of the moment but he outright said he was the better runner & should have won. I probably just give a more generic answer there & let the officials sort it out. I guess you could also argue that it was that obvious to him & give more weight to the DQ. Still feels like one on an indoor track that I wouldn't be surprised by the original result being confirmed. I don't think there needs to be hate for any of the runners involved in this. None of it felt overly dirty versus instinctive racing taking over in crunch time. It seems like the athlete who had the best kick on the day ended up winning, but the true runner up ends up off the podium with a DQ. Nobody wants that.
