As long as I’m in a bad mood, I’m going to say how much I dislike Josh Kerr wearing sunglasses indoors. The guy tries way too hard. Just be good- that’s enough. Leave the leather jackets and scientist glasses alone.
Any time UK athletes try to do a schtick that in any way involves trying to be tough or gangsta it always comes across so lame & cringe.
Guaranteed to miss the mark every time.
No one is taking your manufactured alter-ego seriously when you can't hide the Oxbridge / Essex / little Britain or whatever reality, so just leave it at the door.
That race sucked. no way Hocker is going to push the pace in a race ever again. got burned too bad by fisher last year.
probably doesn't have the same fitness. a little bit of that chip is off his shoulder. he knows he's got it in himself to bump to WC 5000 level. maybe just a little bit of edge gone in his training and racing now.
time trialing is really, really hard.
Both highlighted comments above are, very soon, likely to be proven absurd.
In two weeks, Cole will be running the mile at the ASICS Sound Invite on the new JDLFastTrack banked track with same Mondo surface used at the Paris '24 Olympics.
Cole has stated he will be going for a fast time -- implying at least a US record attempt.
Isn't it kind of ironic that the big winner of the Millrose 2-mile is ultimately the guy that scratched? I think more people respect what Grant does for the sport now then they would have if he had raced and gotten 2nd place behind a WR.
How on earth does Beamish deserve a mention in the opening post? He is the epitome of what Jakob emphasized last week, that he can't imagine how stupid it must feel not to start trying until the race is over.
Beamish is totally dependent on group stupidity to ever win a race at this level. You could see how frustrated Hocker was to get run down by Beamish two years ago at world indoors. It was that senseless defeat that caused Hocker to improve his tactics going forward. Now he rarely gets it wrong when the race means something to him.

LOL, you were already proven wrong after erroneously predicting Hocker would run sub 8.
I have agree with you. That's why I like Blanks as a runner. Give his all every race and puts himself in a position to win. If you do that enough one day it can work for you. Having said that it's pretty hard to be too critical of someone with 2 World Championship Golds.

the sunglasses are his trademark, and at this point, he's likely paid to wear them.
the leather and glasses is an okay look for him. he's into fashion. some guys are.
but i get it. guys who don't care about fashion trends are always gonna be disturbed by guys who do.
he has a contract with oakley, so yeah he is paid to wear them.
When will Beamish realize that he has more talent than any of these guys and actually put himself in place to beat them? And I don't just mean the occasional mad dash at the end of a sit and kick affair.
Huge letdown. Grant Fisher scratched the whole complexion of the race changed, like a red card in the first 5 minutes of a soccer game. Went from huge anticipation to meh.
Once again, Hocker gets himself trapped in lane 1 which he does in most of his races. And rather than accept his mistake, he makes contact with Wolfe and Blanks at 7:26 to try to force his way out. Wolfe was passing on the outside of lane 2 and was absolutely not crowding Hocker. Blanks nearly went down when he was tripped from behind.
I am so tired of seeing this crap from Hocker. He even acted like he was being persecuted in interviews when he got DQ'd at Worlds. I can't wait to see someone get tired of his nonsense and faceplant him.

Such a sense of entitlement... more DQs please!
What a bunch of whiny clowns. Obviously you've never ran in a competitive race before. Hocker is a boss and if he keeps getting away with it, it's only because his competitors can't stop him. I'll enjoy watching the legend continue to live rent free in your heads.😂
Great Race ! Too much hype around 7:52 - 7;58 time trial. We got a very thrilling race and exciting last 3 laps!
And I’m confused about the jogfest vibes complaints. Yeah 8:07-8 isn’t top gear but it converts to a 7:31-2 3,000m. That’s tactical but not really a burnup.
Wild to see so many people's complaining about an indoor catch weight race with a loaded field that had 4-5 different guys looking like serious threats to win at different points. Hacker ran really savvy, getting into the right spots consistently amidst all the churn
People here will whine about anything that isn't both WR territory and an exciting race.
