I am not saying you’re wrong here. But why all the endless debate over something that seems ridiculous? It would be like if every couple days I posted a thread saying the earth is more accurately described as being round than flat. And then I quoted a celebrity or a scientist and their Twitter. Why all the debate for something that seems sort of obvious?

What Lia said, and was correct about, is that the people who are rallying against transpeople are showcasing a form of transphobia. You can't say, "I support transgender rights, except for the right to play sports unless they do it the way I tell them is okay." Any statement that is structured, "I support you, but..." is not showing full support.

Navratilova likens gender categories to weight categories in boxing. Why doesn't she argue, "You should compete in the weight class of your birth!" Weight can change, thus your category changes. Your gender can change, thus your category changes. I think the argument of "fairness" is pretty dumb in whole, but even with the weight class thing, It's pretty well known that boxers cut weight to try to get at the max of a weight class. Therefore a boxer who is dropping down from a higher weight class would have an advantage over a boxer who puts on weight and moves up. But we don't separate categories on what people used to be.

If Shaq transitioned to female, she would then compete against females. This isn't rocket science. We don't have basketball categories for height. It's based on gender, dummy.

Yet you will keep clicking for weeks straight trying to mental gymnastic and virtue signal your way to making people believe men should be able to participate in female sport.

Literally no one, regardless of what one thinks of trannies, thinks it is fair for men to compete in women's sports. NO. ONE. Yet some support allowing it, including our current regime. So then what is the purpose? Active, willful, purposeful destruction.

Fixed it for you. Biological sex doesn't change. It's an immutable characteristic.

My friends and I do not discuss this issue except maybe a couple times this pronoun issue was discussed. Of course many of us think the pronoun issue has gotten out of hand. But otherwise we aren’t talking about it. But you weird people here simply cannot stop yourselves. If it is your favorite subject, ask yourself why?

The only time I think of transgenders, particularly male to female, is when the subject of participation in sports is raised, thus the interest Letsrun has in the subject.

Most of us believe in freedom to call identify yourself as you please and act as you wish, however, the behavior can't harm other people. Even someone who dislikes some of the sports science here will admit that there are some questions about fairness.

And some very reasonable women I know are uncomfortable taking showers and going to bathroom with someone who has male characteristics. The common ploy is to call them transphobes and expect their discomfort to be dismissed. It is not always the the right that is authoritarian.

rojo is obsessed with trans. He should see a freudian therapist to explore his deep and strong desires to become trans or be with a trans.

Exercise some freaking self discipline. It's up to you to take ownership of the threads you click into and to make a conscious choice about what content you engage with.

I think any idiot can see that the trans problem is the biggest issue in women's sport in 100 years, so why shouldn't a running forum disucss it? Maybe if we had more women runners here, it would be discussed even more. Seb Coe talks about it quite a lot. Is he also obsessed?
