Love it.
Love it.
Of course, you love the number of clicks this thread will generate.
We already have a very active thread on the comments that Lia Thomas made this week. Do we really need another one?
You actually are obsessed with transgenders. Or at least you are obsessed with generating discussion about them, and most of it is making them sound as if transgenders playing sports is the second biggest threat behind nuclear war and just ahead of climate change.
so true. the only time I basically think about transgender people is when I come to this website

rojo should acquire the domain letstrans.com.
What Navratilova has to say is relevant and noteworthy.

Yes, and it could have been added to the existing thread.

Don’t forget his disgust over the wheelchair races at major marathons.
Martina has been very mushy on the trans issue. She first dove into the controversy by calling trans female athletes "cheaters". That played into the right wing anti-trans movement which is largely based on the belief that trans people are deviants who are being trans in order to molest/groom children, sneak into women's locker rooms or dominate women's sports after being mediocre competing against their biological gender. Her words were even cited by proponents of anti-trans legislation.
Martina walked back the "cheater" allegation and has now taken a mushy middle group position. She is not opposed to trans girls participating in girls sports before puberty. She is insistent that once puberty kicks in, trans women will have an advantage that cannot be overcome through medical intervention. She has worked with June Eastwood and others in a working group trying to find a path for inclusion of trans athletes. Her latest idea is an "open" category for any athlete to compete in, whether cis gendered, binary, trans, etc. that would be separate from male and female competitions.
It’s always the ones who scream the loudest.
We see you Rojo.
Martina got called a transphobe for saying that trans women make a mockery of women's sports. To my mind she is correct, and that has nothing to do with being transphobic.
I want trans people to live their best lives. That doesn't include infringing on the rights of other people. Competing as a M to F in women's sports is not fair to the women. F to M competitors in men's sports is unfair to the men in the skill-based sports like archery or shooting, but it doesn't pose a direct physical threat to the other competitors in the way that M to F competitors in rugby or boxing does.
Lia has acted like an jerk in every story I've seen on her. She fails the 'basic human decency' test, which makes me Lia-phobic.

I love it also. As most of you know, I am VERY liberal, but this born a male and then competing against women later on thing is not (at least should not be) a liberal thing. It's ridiculous. I DO believe this will be stopped eventually everywhere, but it should happen yesterday. Unfair, potentially dangerous, and really flat out ridiculous and not helpful to transgender people who want to not be discriminated against...because this ask...for transgender women to compete in women's sports, is just stupid.
Glad that liberal Martina Navratilova has spoken on this issue.
Brave woman. Hopefully the second greatest Czech sportswoman in history will follow her example and speak out on this issue too.
