One word of caution. Try to look up "stress reaction" in PubMed? You wont find it. Even hard to google-maps directly to stress fracture. Stress reactions are fractures, albeit perhaps so small they are occult or micro fractures. If you have bone marrow edema (which i assume you do since you were diagnosed) on imaging it is felt that this is a stress fracture. Albeit perhaps on the low end since you cant see a line or gap. But stress reaction is not embraced by major sports med clinics in my experience. So dont start with "its only a stress reaction". It's a fracture, minor or early perhaps. This is a bit academically nebulous, but Im just cautioning you. Ultimately we don't know.
