Cory McGee and Aisha Praught-Leer are there on the shorter side as well (i say shorter for Praught-Leer because when she does a non-steeple event she goes down in distance).
Emma Coburn, Cory Mcgee, Emma Bates, Dom Scott, Aisha Praught-Leer, Dani Jones, Gabe Jennings, Katie Rainsberger, Kate Grace, Aaliyah Miller...and now Emily Infeld.
Some people have been posting some very mean things about both Emily and Emma so I deleted them and am moving this thread to registration only. If you want to post the mean things again, go ahead but at least have the guts to post them under a registered screen name.
Thanks, don't mind if I do.
I said that Emily is too nice to be a part of the boss b_____s and that Miss cold burn will smile in her face and stab her in the back the first chance she gets.
Again, your selective outrage at certain people being criticized is unbelievable. Athletes get skewered on this site day and night without a peep from you unless it's one of your "chosen" (see; "white") few. I could post links to worse things said about other athletes right now on this site but it would fall on deaf ears and be a waste of my time.
Grojo up!
“Mean” isn’t the right word. Athletes of all races get criticized on here and probably the most scrutinized is a whiteguy -Galen Rupp.
Generally we are fine w people being mean. The main post that caused the change wasn’t yours but one where there was a personal attack mentioning when Emily was criminally stalked in a derisive manner.
I think it would have been better to just delete the post but a lot of times these threads get out of hand so pre emotive action in this case was a reasonable course of action.

So, my original post wasn't the issue, but it was deleted anyway? Then Rojo said to repost with a registered name, so I did, then it gets deleted again? So what's the problem? I can't say Emily is too nice? I can't call them the boss b_____s? Or I can't call her Miss cold burn? Which one is it? You guys sure spend a lot of time deleting ridiculous things yet leave seriously offensive stuff out there for all to see. It may seem juvenile, but I would like an explanation as to why you or whomever is deleting my post has an issue with it. Again, I could hotlink a dozen far more mean spirited, horrible and racist comments on this site that are still there with zero moderation. What is so special about this group that would warrant such kid-gloved treatment?
Who all is on the team? I know Coburn and Bates are there but that's all I know off the top of my head. Do they have a stronger women's team than BTC now?
Cory Mcgee (1500), Dani Jones (1500), Aisha Praught-Leer (1500) Katie Rainsberger (St), Gabbi Jennings (St), Dominique Scott (5,10), Kate Grace (800)
Lots of people to train with, not all doing the same exact workouts.
A lot of people in this thread need to re-lace up their trainers and go for a run instead of typing so fast about either this forum or Emily's move that their keyboards light on fire. People who have probably never even seen these runners in real life, much less met them, are obsessing about these athletes in ways that is in no way related to them being athletes (miss cold burn? really? are we 5?). I guess this is why tabloids are so popular, because people love the idea that celebrities they have never met have all these problems and drama.
On topic: stoked for Emily and this move - excited to see how it works out for her once indoor/outdoor fires up again! Or will we see her on the road at some point as well? Either way I hope the Boss Babes don't totally replace Max crush Monday's pacing role

I take a guess...
I think they love Emma Coburn, because she has taken a stand "some call it whining", against dopers. Because she continuously gets drubs by Africans, she's alluded to them being dirty.
I’ve often wondered how this arrangement works. Does Emily, or any runner in a professional running group, pay the coaches for the training…and then she lives off her race winnings and sponsors or does Emily get paid (such as a set salary like any other pro team athlete) to be in the group?

I’ve often wondered the same. Looks like most of the athletes are paid by their individual sponsors, but a few have definitely joined the group before being sponsored (Rainsberger, Faubke, Jones?). Gotta assume Emma is paid well by NB, thus any extra payments (coaching fees, % of earnings, etc) to Joe from the other athletes would just be bonus income (albeit small) for the Coburn/Bosshard fam. Sounds like money is not an issue for the Coburn’s or Bosshard’s.

Nice work. Actual forum moderation. This should be happening a lot more

This group has no outside income (i.e. group sponsor) to pay anyone, same with all the other Boulder groups save OAC. To her credit, Emma has served as a pied piper for women middle distance runners in Boulder, sort of emulating what Shorter did for men distance runners 40+ years ago. Their perks are discounted membership at Rally Sport c/o Emma, discounted housing c/o Emma, and free accommodations in Crested Butte for altitude camps c/o Emma. Those who can command appearance fees and prize winnings probably give a % to their agent and a % to their coach. Those who don't are probably getting to train in the group for free, the opportunity to train with the group is of far greater value than having Coach Joey determine a pace for a workout or add or remove a rep from a workout. As rgp65 astutely points out, the Coburns are set for life regardless of income from running.

My understanding is that coaching fees for groups such as this are around 10% of athlete's total income from the sport. I'm happy for anybody to improve that information.

Real question: how much people are deterred when they can still use an anonymous registered name?
