Would letsrun hate Pre if he were alive today?

They talk about Cole Hocker non stop and he wasn't even 4th.

If Pre was alive today he'd be in his 70s and probably wouldn't be discussed much at all either way on LR.

Pre did not hold himself back a year in high school.

I didn't know Pre but he held his own against the best in the world in his era. Not sure if he liked training or not.

Certainly would have generated some great message board fodder.

From what I have read he trained very hard (as you would expect) but did not care for long slow runs

Makes sense. Thank you. In competitions he liked to push and front run so the daily grind may have been less enjoyable for him. He set 14 American Records, won NCAA Cross Country 3 times and had quite the range of excellent times from the 1500m through the 10K. I liked his competitive spirit. He would have been talked about a lot on Letsrun.

it would be half and half. he's outspoken, so i guess it would depend on what he was outspoken about. Would his complaints be logical or emotional? Would they be well timed, or would they be emotional outbursts following losses?

I would like to think he would complain about how inept the USATF is. EVerybody could get behind that. Maybe he'd talk trash about the lack of real racing.

letsrun supporst SOME athletes. objects to others. this is normal for any psort.

Letsrun loves good quotes and strong opinions that makes sense to the individual worldview.

SOME of Letsrun likes trash talk. There is an appropriate way to execute it, even if you are a fan.

There is a pretty broad spectrum of people here. Letsrun is not an entity with a singular personality.

Nike would not have hyped him or named a track meet after him. He'd be about as high profile as Marty Liquori. You could probably search up old posts by him about his glory days
