Hunter ran 3:57/8:42 in HS
Grijalva ran 4:02/8:43-3200 in HS
Hunter may be one of the HS GOATs but Grijalva wasn’t too far off of HS GOAT status times. He’s just improving under a really, really good coach with perhaps the best environment for distance running training in this country. Hunter still runs for his HS coach. You said you didn’t want to make this a Tinman bashing thread, but I think what a lot of people are trying to say is that a broader interest in training philosophy, and a willingness to move on from what is comfortable and familiar would benefit him. Then again he isn’t even running slow. So maybe we can just keep watching and the Tinman magic will finally show up.
