I think Kelati has shown to be on another level this season, but Allie O. threw down at regionals is seems to have the ability to latch onto a front runner and keep contact.
Not sure if that will lead to a win but I could see Allie and Kelati separating from the chase pack fairly early. A lot of other front runners might be worried about blowing up and play it conservative, but after Boise state lost to New Mexico twice and Oregon once by the slimmest of margins, I'm thinking they will run very aggressive. If Allie had beaten Kurgat or Prouse at Mountain West, Boise would have won.
So unless Kelati REALLY gets after it early, I think Allie will latch onto her no matter what. I don't think she will beat Kelati this time, but I think she needs to beat Kurgat for Boise to win.
will that pace take the 1500m runners out of it? I'm thinking so, but am not counting Jones. She took the regional easy and it could pay dividends, especially since Allie and Kelati ran hard.
I have Kelati for the win, Allie 4-6 seconds back for 2nd and Jones another 6-8 seconds back followed closely by Kurgat.
