If you label that progression run as a workout, than yeah, sounds good for some light tempo work with some extra mileage added to it. Those last 4 miles are quick for you.

Yeah, this is a workout day.
and is it too quick or light tempo work? Kind of contradictory there.

I have done this same workout during a marathon build but I've only ran 17:5x (training run) but this was 2 years ago. My tempo similar to yours earlier this year. Since then I have progressed even further. I wonder if I'm in 16:50 shape? My mileage is high though (90-100). Training for a marathon.

Yeah but this is a kid who can run 2:04-2:06 for 800m and has only consistently gotten to 50mpw.

I'm not down playing the kid at all. He's doing well. Just wondered if I can run 16:50 now off of my training. I have never raced a 5K. Also, I have an 800m PR of 2:02 off 40mpw when I was 34....Not too long ago. I just switched to the Thon. Dont like the sensation of burning legs.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
