I am a high school XC-focused runner with PRs of 1:29 for HM, 18:51 for 5K, 11:27 for 3200m, and 5:28 for 1600m. I am 5'10" and about 122 pounds. I ran a 19:30 for my first 5K of the season back in August. As you can see, I haven't progressed much at all since then. I ran both indoor and outdoor to work on my speed. I am a very slow sprinter (400m pr of 1:07). I eat incredibly nutritiously but sometimes struggle to fit enough calories in throughout the day. It's like my stomach literally cannot handle all of the food necessary to keep my weight up. My weight has dropped by about 9 pounds since Christmas. Most nights I go to bed uncomfortably full. The rest of my team progressed much more than I did and I was eventually left behind. I have a lot of fatigue throughout the day and even some basic activities such as talking can be tiring for me. I'm currently running about 50 mpw. I also lift weights 3-5 times a week. Currently, my strength is suffering and my numbers for different exercises are decreasing. I sleep about 8-9 hours a night as well. I really can't figure out why I can't keep up. I would really love to be able to succeed in my final year of XC next year. Any advice?
