I am a senior in high school currently, with about a month left of my track season. I have had issues to overtraining multiple time throughout my career. I have found that I will normally run a personal best in any given event before the season starts while I am doing just easy runs, one tempo, and a long run per week. Then, once the season starts I may improve for the first month or so and then start to degrade physically. I think it is because of the speed work my coach has me do during the season. Anyways, that is my background. I have always been unable to sleep undisturbed when I am overtrained. I will wake up multiple times per night and have trouble falling back asleep. So the past 4-5 days I have been having sleeping issues like I get when overtrained. My legs are somewhat tired also but, I am not sure if it's any different than in regular training states. My resting heart rate hasn't changed much at all, as it would and has before with elevated cortisol levels which cause insomnia in overtrained states. I am not sure whether I am overtrained or what, and would appreciate any advice on what I should do.
