After seeing Shalane's famous potty break during the Boston Marathon, I can't help but wonder... 13 seconds was quite impressive, was it a record?

She didn't wash her hands...scores some dude points.
Did she wipe?
She noticed she still had a needle in her, had to get it out fast.

No, Shalane's not the fastest during a 'thon. Paula Radcliffe's 5.3 second drop-a-squat in the London Marathon is by far the fastest. Note Paula's technique, she doesn't even pull down her bun huggers, she just reaches down and moves the material aside to allow sufficient urinal evacuation. Where do they train that technique? Cyclist do the same while pedaling.
Here's Paula's WR pee in a 'thon:
Wow. Paula was truly a fierce competitor.
I bet she sprayed all over the seat. Rude.
I still don't understand why she just didn't piss on herself. She was already soaked in the rain, and it would have just washed out with the rain.
I'm sure most runners just piss on themselves while running a marathon, especially in the rain.

That is exactly what you are doing on this thread.
Women can't piss standing up.
Among the dumbest threads ever, but I'd bet my left useless Lunaracer that S's brief stop was nearly a world record for 1+1.
13 seconds is not that fast. Unfortunately I am one who has to make many pit stops on my runs and because I hate stopping, I go in/out as fast as I can and honestly probably takes me 10-15 sec at the most (I'm female btw).
Also sure she could have just pissed on herself, which she did consider, but the pace was slow enough she figured she wouldn't lose that much time.
Interesting how my post was deleted when there's an actual video of Paula taking a piss in the street in this thread.

Not sure why anyone in their right mind thinks Shalane was in there peeing.

A couple miles into a 10 mile race along a river, I see a guy move to the far side of the street just ahead of me. I see him holding one hand by his crotch and then a stream appears. We were running low 6's and he never broke stride. I can't imagine it was the first time he had done it.
