I have a new coworker who has been spouting off ridiculous claims on social media and to other coworkers about how fast he is. But nothing of what he says adds up. He claims include a training run with multiple sub 4 min miles, running a sub 1:10 half marathon, and running in the USA Outdoor Championships. I've looked up his results and he's really not bad but the difference in what he claims vs. what he actually runs is absolutely unbelievable.
I don't want to "out him" or anything, but as someone who really loves the sport and takes it fairly seriously, it's frustrating to see someone act like that. I don't get why someone would lie about that stuff, especially when it's so easily verifiable. He's otherwise a really friendly guy and nice to be around.
Has anyone else ever been in a situation like this? I know it's probably best to just let it go, but he is obviously lying and that really bugs me.
