Gerard Hartmann:
"I remember in Font Romeu in 2001 or 2002, Paula and Gary saw some suspicious vials in a local dumpster when emptying their rubbish. Their response was to immediately contact the authorities. People who don’t know Paula might say her strident anti-doping position was a clever act.
"But she was asking for her blood to be frozen back in 2002. There is only one logical reason for that. She knew she was doing it the right way and she wanted those who weren’t to be caught."
"Sometimes people who don’t know sport say that all elite athletes train hard. They do. But Paula trained harder, often running up to 170 miles a week (that sounds Wang Junxia and the Chinese runners with Ma Junren) as well as intense core and weights sessions. Her VO2 max was regularly tested by the respected physiologist Andrew Jones, who found it higher than any female athlete he had ever seen in the literature.
"My heart and soul reaches out to Paula. Her reputation is on the line because of three suspicious blood values – even though we know that these values were looked at by the IAAF and it found no evidence of wrongdoing. Paula, too, is determined to do more to clear her name in the coming weeks. Because she knows what is at stake. These allegations threaten to destroy everything she has stood for during the past two decades. It would destroy her achievements, her reputation and her ambitions to work with the IAAF in trying to clean up sport.
"She was completely shell-shocked.
"That is why her immediate reaction was: IF YOU PRINT MY NAME I WILL SUE YOU because I am a clean athlete. Once she had thought about it, her instinct was to be open and she tried to approach the Sunday Times journalist David Walsh, who wrote her autobiography a decade ago, but he wasn’t able to cooperate because of his paper’s involvement.
"At that time I told Paula she had two choices.
"You can explain the suspicious values and be proactive.
"Or you can sit on it and it will either become a monster of a story or die a death, and that is your choice.
"Maybe she took the wrong one, but she knows the truth must prevail here.
"And if Paula can add anything scientifically to bring the truth out she will. I have told Paula not to hide from it. And from now on she won’t.
"I know that the last 48 hours has been like PUTTING A DAGGER THROUGH HER BOTH WAYS."

Paula:
"Further, not one of the values questioned by the Sunday Times occurred around any of my best performances or races, including all my appearances at the London Marathon.
"I had been ill prior to the race and was taking strong antibiotics, which may have affected the data.
Obviously dehydration is a huge factor in post-race tests, particularly in very hot conditions. For example, one of the tests was done immediately after finishing a half marathon in Portugal in midday temperatures of approximately 30 degree Celsius heat.
"The Sunday Times recently attempted to obtain the consent of athletes to publish their stolen medical data, asserting behind the scenes to the effect that if consent isnt given it will look like an athlete has something to hide and may therefore be guilty of doping.
"This was effectively tantamount to blackmail, and plainly unacceptable. I was extremely disturbed to see how young athletes preparing for the World Championships were upset and confused by the intrusion and demands of these journalists. A further important point is that cheats wishing to know the normal ranges were being given very valuable information and assistance by the Sunday Times.
"For these reasons and primarily the need for qualified interpretation with all relevant context, the sports governing bodies requested that athletes should not release their blood data.
"I was happy to stand with them.
"Although I have nothing to fear in terms of what the data shows, because I have nothing to hide and have done nothing wrong, it should be remembered that what is being discussed is confidential medical data which has been stolen or leaked. Such partial and historic data is of little value on its own, and, can only result in further misinterpretation and speculation.
Another senior independent expert who WADA RECOMMENDED and who is head of the WADA accredited laboratory in Lausanne (= DR. MARTIAL PLAN B SAUGY, WHO IS NOT NAMED BY PAULA) was asked at my request to review the data following the Sunday Times articles (without being told my identity).
He concluded that:
'...Moreover, data obtained for example in Vilamoura in 2003, with bloods collected before and right after the half marathon, ran in hot conditions, are typically showing effects of confounding factors. The increase of 2.8 in Hb (and no significant effect on ret%) is due to a drastic hemoconcentration caused by the specific race conditions.'
Paula Radcliffe:
..."I would like to reiterate my abhorrence at having fingers falsely pointed at me and being accused of having suspicious blood results and therefore of possibly cheating in the sport I love. I have never resorted to cheating in any form whatsoever at any time in my career.
"I welcome further investigation if it is necessary, however, multiple experts having already concluded contemporaneously and following the Sunday Times articles that there is simply no case to answer.
"I will continue to fully support and help THE QUEST to find and remove those who cast a huge shadow over athletics which sadly threatens to envelop the innocent along with the guilty."
Paula Radcliffe
WHOOPS.
It turns out that:
There was actually a 20% decrease in reticulocyte% score from 0.59% of RBCs to a BELOW NORMAL RANGE VALUE OF 0.47% of RBCs, because of the dilution from the old stored blood in Paula's autologous blood transfusion...which was also at the same time that she had a 21.88% increase in her hemoglobin values from 12.8 g/dL to an ABOVE NORMAL RANGE VALUE of 15.6 g/dL...in only 2 days.
It is IMPOSSIBLE for altitude training to increase hemoglobin values by 21.88% in any human on this planet... in only 2 days.
Dr. Martial 'PLAN B' Saugy is telling a LIE for Ms. Paula Radcliffe.
The 2.8 g/dL increase in hemoglobin value between Oct 2 2003 and Oct 4 2003 in only 2 days is from an autologous blood transfusion by Ms. Paula Radcliffe because it is way above the maximum increase of 10 to 15% increase in hemoglobin values which can be seen in severe dehydration (with the loss of 4% of bodyweight after running for 2.5 to 3 hours).
Dr. Saugy never makes any statements about Paula's OFF score going from 82 to 114.87 in 2 days in 2003 or from 92 to 109.87 (with an ABOVE NORMAL RANGE hemoglobin value of 15.1 g/dL and a BELOW normal range reticulocyte score of O.47% at the same time... AGAIN) after only 1 day and running for only 30 minutes in a 10000m race on Aug 6 2005...while only having an OFF score of 102 after running for 2:20:57 on Aug. 14 2005 (which should cause a lot more dehydration/hemoconcentration than only running for 30 minutes in a 10000m race).
Paula Radcliffe's 16.2 g/dL hemoglobin level (and reticulocyte score of 0.77%), with an OFF score of 109.35 in her OOC test in Monte Carlo, Monaco on Feb. 7 2012 would have been over the hemoglobin cutoff level of 16.0 g/dL used for a BAN FROM COMPETITION IN CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING, and would also be the equivalent of a hematocrit score of 48.6%...which would have also been over the 47% cutoff level in females used for a BAN FROM COMPETITION IN PROFESSIONAL CYCLING.
Paula's OOC blood test result on Feb 7 2012 in Monte Carlo, Monaco is the equivalent of a hemoglobin value of 17.2 g/dL and a hematocrit score of 51.6% in a man.
Ms. Paula Radcliffe has a new name:
