What are the physiological differences, if any, between training at 5000’ and 7000’? I live at 5000’ feet, and I am wondering if it is worth my while to do time at 7000’.

This ^. Altitude benefits are greatest when you dwell, not train, at 7000 ft. The science also indicates that the comparative training rigor from 0-5000 ft is the same as going from 5000-7000 ft.

opportunities for inmates to provide input into the decision-making process are limited. however, if you think there are relevant human rights or welfare considerations concerning the location of your incarceration you should consult with your attorney. if you are unable to afford an attorney the court will appoint one for you.
glad to be of assistance.
The science tells you to live high, train low so you can train at a higher intensity while getting the increased hematocrit levels by living high. Rupp achieves the same end result by using an altitude tent. They say you don't get much of an effect unless you do it for at least a month. In my own experience, I would spend a week at 8000 ft (while living at 5000 ft) right before my conference meet each year and would race like a beast at conferences which were typically held at sea level. A lot of world champion and Olympic athletes actually do something similar in St Moritz @ about 6000' ft in the lead up to their championship meets. I am sure there is good information available out there if you look for it. There is a pretty big difference between 5000' and 7000'.
