It's a horrible job. Barely any scholarship on either side, roster limitations, and you are expected to fund raise a ton. Could be a good job but it's a tough one.

Yeah right... wrote:
McGregor doesn't read the boards...he is taking calls from multiple universities plotting his next move, but leveraging offers to get a higher salary at Texas.
It will come out. He is young and doesn't have the baggage of having to deal with dependents.
You think having dependents is “baggage” ? You my friend are a classy guy.
That’s how you rate class? You, sir are a clueless guy. I absolutely adore my family but knowing I need to spend more time with them absolutely hurts my coaching and that is ok with me. It doesn’t make me less classy to state that. Maybe more honest. FWIW, that wasn’t me that stated that. Now back to jobs instead of judging ones class based upon a sentence.
Milt will be named the HC of UND later this week or early next week.
He should be, but won’t. ND had uninformed underlings running the search and they bungled the search for the second time to in 5 years. They will continue to pay worse than a mid major and wallow in mediocrity as a result.

Disappointing :(
I don’t know if I buy this. Why would Notre Dame make a change in the first place if they weren’t going to put the resources into the head coaching search to find someone significantly better?
Explain to me what the attraction would be for Milt to move to ND? I seriously don't get what would motivate him. Here's my thinking: He's director at Stanford, so there's no opportunity for promotion or more control Pay can't be an incentive (assume he's paid well at Stanford) Teams have done well at Stanford, mostly, so no pressure to leave (assume) Stanford weather vs ND weather (clear winner to Stanford) So what would be the incentive?

Because it costs a billion dollars to live in Palo Alto, and it is as far away from family as possible. Yes, it is a sexy job, but once you have experienced it, work life balance starts to play a bigger role

I think he's got housing from the university. Family thing makes sense.
Also, if you are not born in the Bay Area, it is hard to square the “I care about every living thing” persona with the “if you expel more CO2 than you use, you should be killed (me exempted)” real world view. Progressivism has taken a deadly turn on the farm.
Screw progressives. They are extremely judgmental of all those who do not share the same beliefs as them including and not limited to religion, conservation, dealing with homeless people that are violent, politics and actually liking or not liking soccer.
Anyway, if Milt leaves, don't be surprised if McGregor leverages a job offer from Stanford to increase his offer from Texas. The guy knows business tactics. Hook 'em.

If he ends up at Notre Dame, this will be the reason why. Apparently sh!t-holes are a great place to raise a family with their sky fairy. He also won’t have to deal with California pu$$ies as much...

Plus, he has 4 kids. Half off tuition for those kids at ND

Stratch a progressive, find a fascist ready to take away what you have for the benefit of “others” (them). I’ll take the risk of dealing with the “sky fairy” in the afterlife to dealing with the hell progressives cause here on earth.
Does anyone know anything about Air Force?
Beau Houston no longer listed on staff.
She was a great coach. That is a hard place to work with very little support from staff. Wish her the best!!
So who are the favorites to replace Lonnie at Purdue?
The hot assistants in the SEC are Tim Hall, Dion Miller, and Chris Johnson. Which of these has the best shot?
Any other obvious candidates we are overlooking?
I don't think the administration will go for elevating the Elliots. Stranger things have happened, but I see them as power5 assistants or mid-major heads.

I can't see any of those you mentioned heading to West Lafayette. Seems like they would be a stretch. That being said, I disagree with your assessment about the Elliott's. Purdue is Angela's alma mater, and both of them have been head coaches. Do not under estimate the role that Norbert p,aged in the Boilers recent success. Lonnie and Norbert were a great team, along with throws coach, Keith McBride, doing a great job as well.
Norbert would do a great job directing the program and hope he gets his shot at it.
