Question about a strained Calf. I have the NYC marathon in 7.5 weeks, but last month strained by calf after a hard hill repeat workout. Kept running, just had a sore right calf. But two weeks later it got bad, did a 14 mile run, but should have quite after 10. Haven't run since, been rehabing, but have gone back to Square One twice, 10 days ago after running to catch the train, felt a small pop in it. Then tonight while mildly stretching felt another pop and immediate loss in strength with heel raises.
Pretty damn bummed. but even if I don't run for three weeks all indications are that I should take it easy ramping back up the miles. Even with running 45 miles a week up to last month, a few 16 milers and one 18 miler, I'm thinking 4.5 weeks isn't enough time to build back up to running a marathon. What do you think? please and thanks!
