I'm a junior in high school and am considering running at the Naval Academy. I would rather not discuss if I could get in at this time. I don't want this thread to get off subject about the admissions process and needed qualifications.
I would be grateful if current or formal Naval Academy distance runners or people familiar with the program would comment. What is it like balancing running, academics and all the other time commitments at the academy. Do you think it would be harder or easier to run at Navy that at other schools? I have heard that Midshipmen not on a varsity team have intramural sports during afternoon practice time and that varsity athletes get out of some military things too. What is coach Cantello like? Has anyone reading this quit the team? If so, why? Would you do it all over again?
