Hi all,
I was diagnosed with Runner's Knee last fall. Upon diagnosis I took a good month off from running before resuming again. Not too long after building back up my mileage I got it again. It's been on and off all throughout track season and now into the summer. Seems to get worse the higher the mileage gets.
It's not unbearable pain, typically hurts more when I'm walking around or sit too long than when I run. The first mile or two of a run will be pretty poppy and clicky but it actually feels 80-90% towards the end of a run when it's warmed up.
Like I said, it actually really hurts the most when I'm just walking around the house or at work. The increase in summer mileage has made it quite a bit more irritated though.
What are some steps I can take to combat a lingering runners knee like this? Doctor wasn't super helpful or knowledgeable so I don't know if this is a shoe problem, strengthening or flexibility problem, or what exactly I need to do.
Anyone else have experience?
Thanks!
