Rodgers DNFed in Boston in 1977 and Beijiing in 1983. Outside that he had a DNF is some nondescript marathon in 1975 and Boston in 1999. That's not really many DNFs considering how many years he ran multiple marathons.
Jim Hogan won the European Marathon Championship in 1966 and it may have been the only marathon he finished in his life. He said he saw no point in in finishing a marathon just to finish it if there was no hope of a good finish or time.
