It's insane that this is the first post of the day that has Ryan Crouser as the main subject. I am about 4 hours post-shot put and I'm floored at the lack of commentary.
What he did today was astounding. Pressure moment, everything on the line. He had just lost his lead by a Kovacs bomb in round 6. In Crouser's final attempt, he went out there and had a massive throw, the farthest by any human in 14 years. And beyond the mark itself, the throw just looked different. As it was in the air, I actually thought to myself, "I don't know if I've ever seen a throw like that." Amazing.
Look, I'm a distance-centric person, too, but there needs to be more respect for the greatest athletes in the planet.
