Wife wants my shared location on with her all the time. I told her she can just ask where I am, especially since she knows where I am all of the time anyway.
Do you share your location with your s/o? Would you if asked?

Nope, she wouldnt dare asking either cause she knows the answer
That's weird.

Married 24 years. I don't share it with her, but she hasn't asked. If and when she does, I will.
If you are James Bond, and need to go to secret locations, get another phone, and leave the tracking phone at the office so you can sneak off. YOu can even have the tacking phone forawrd calls to your secret phone so she can call you while you chase Dr No. It's not like she is putting a dog collar on you and yanking your leash. Oh, wait...
Have you cheated on her or given her reason to suspect so? If the answer is yes, then she has a reasonable request and you should agree. Otherwise, no way.
Yes.
It's really nice to be able to see where she's at to time the completion of dinner or to decide to go for my run and not wait for her.
that's super dystopian and of course I wouldn't
We both have it turned on. We commute 18 miles, don't always finish our day at a preset time and have two kids in elementary/middle school with lots of activities. It makes end of day coordination much easier to see if she has stopped at the store on the way home, or if I am already at school picking up the kids from a sport practice.
I can't think of any negatives to our situation. Plus she is a forgetful person and sometimes leaves her phone in the car or the barn or... and I can tell her where it is with pretty good precision when that happens.
No. While I don't mind if my wife and kids know where I am, I do not want Google, NSA, CIA, FBI, advertisers, Apple, etc, knowing my every move. Enough of this Big Brother $hit.
Lol at the justifications.
You're in an insecure relationship and lying to yourself if you have this enabled.

Agreed. It's super helpful in certain situations, and presents no downside to me.
Another situation where it's helpful that you didn't mention is if my wife calls needing help with directions. I can see where she is, what direction she's going, etc., and am able to actually provide help. This doesn't happen often (she's pretty good at directions normally), but it's extremely helpful when the need does arise.

If she has a cell phone why isn't she using one of the many GPS apps? Or even old-school GPS for that matter?

Better just quit using a mobile phone. It's your only alternative.

Yeah...all of those people have the ability to track your phone whether you turn on location sharing with your wife or not. Amateur hackers can turn on the mic and camera if they really want to target you. Best of luck staying off the grid (you're not, unless you don't have a phone).

Or turn on location sharing when that need arises. Then off again.
What is location sharing with others? Is it iPhone only or can I do it on Android?
I would like to let my wife know where I am if I'm running trails or cycling and have a heart attack or whatever.
Not all the time. But I prefer sharing when I'm running, for safety reasons.
I'm definitely more worried about someone stalking/following my whereabouts. I've had my identity stolen in the past and don't care to advertise myself. Also, I find when I leave location on, it drains the battery on my phone. I just use it to find directions. If I had a S/O and he wanted to know my location then I wouldn't hesitate.
So many beta males. The only proper response is to tell her she should be in the kitchen making dinner.
