Hello letsrun, I am a junior in HS. I just ran 1:59 in 800m, 4:21 in 1600m, and 9:24 in 3200m. I train about 45-50mpw in the off season and 35-40mpw in season. I feel like I train smart, but the volume is pretty low.
I am very strong academically, so I don't need athletic money for college. If I walked on to a good D1 program, and then kept up my training post-collegiately, could I break 4:00 in the mile? It has been my ultimate goal for a while and I feel like I may have a shot.
General (or specific) training tips would be much appreciated, as well as life tips.
Please give your honest opinion. I am aware that it's a long shot, so please don't beat me up over it if you think it's a stupid question.
