I have been running for about 2 months again after taking a few months off due to another (shin) injury. Last week I did 6 miles on Sunday and the next day did 3 miles, although I would typically take that day off to rest. The 3 mile run was a little hard, mostly just tired legs, but there wasn't any major pain. However, as soon as I stopped, my right thigh hurt terribly. It's hard to describe the pain because it feels like it changes all the time. But most often I feel pain on my inner thigh, especially if I press down on it to massage. And then I have a pinching sort of pain a little higher up closer to my groin that I feel like I can't stretch out. The pain is worst in the morning when I get out of bed or after I have been sitting for a while, as soon as I stand up I can barely put weight on it at all or pain goes shooting through my thigh. As the day goes on and I move around more, it gets a more bearable and I am able to walk without limping. But as soon as I sit or sleep and get up, it's back to bad or worse. I have been stretching like crazy which usually provides a little relief, but it seems to feel better for a couple minutes after stretching and then just tighten up again right away. Most confusing is that the pain jumps around so much. I'll stand up and the pain will shoot through my inner thigh, then the next time I will feel it in my groin, later it will seem more in the front of my thigh. Even sometimes in my outer hip. Has anyone experienced anything like this before? Would love some advice. Thanks!
