Why don't you just calculate how much you eased off the gas, and then subtract that from your time? Seems like you have all the info you need to answer your question by yourself.

Solo means you did not run any extra distance. And did you run in lane zero?

And how much wind was it?

I say, go out in 59 and then try to run 62 instead of 64 and that will be a good step for you.

Competition slows you down in the 800. You have more in the tank but if you hit 2:02-2:04 you'd be having a good day.

OP, just get in a race with a bunch of 1:57 - 1:59 guys and see how things work out.

I started my senior year track season with a relaxed 2:06 time trial, and then raced a 4:00 1500 later in April, FWIW.

Depends on the competition and your current form.

If you have to lead in bad conditions then 2:02 or 2:01.

If it's fast just follow the leaders. Just avoid going under 56 and you might be able to run near 2 minutes.

Deduct one second for being forced into lane 2 all the way, one second for getting boxed in and a third second for stumbling when some guy elbows you. Expect 2.06.

Depends on how much hate you ran with. If you only ran your solo with about 50% hate, I'd say with competition that would bump it up to at least 80% hate, giving you 2 flat. But if you ran with PURE HATE the possibilities are endless. Maybe even bust out a 1:57.

Totally depends on you. Some people get no faster with competition, some people get much faster. Only way to find out is to get out there and try.

Also, "goal times" for the 800 are a waste of time. Yes, you should pace yourself in the marathon and aim for certain splits. In the 800 just try to win and run by feel. You should have an idea of what's too fast (if it feels like a 400, it's too fast) but otherwise just stick with it and try to win.

As a point of interest, I ran my PR at 18 and my PR at 22 with the same opening 400m split! I closed seven seconds faster at 22, however....
